Side by side tasting of 2014 HotD Adam from the Wood and 2014 Cherry Adam from the Wood.

2014 Cherry Adam from the Wood- murky black brown body beer that pours "flat" with sparse bubbles which is no surprise. Lots of fruitiness in the nose, but no cherry. Lots of dry oak tannins. Caramel, vanilla, leather, light bourbon, and baker cocoa. full bodied with minimal carbonation(again no surprise). Still slightly hot, but big picture it is fairly smooth in the grand scheme of things.

2014 Adam from the Wood- murky black bodied with no head also pours flat. bourbon, carmel, vanilla, baker cocoa, deep wet oak notes, slight hint of leather and fruit. The end finishes with a light bittterness and earthiness. full bodied beer with minimal carbonation. very smooth and not very boozy. Complex well rounded and no signs of significant oxidation. Almost like a port wine or a cabernet my tasting buddy had mentioned.

The crazy part here is that I liked cherry adam from the wood when it was fresh, but adam from the wood seems to be aging significantly better. That awesome black cherry flavor has been lost from cherry adam; and that makes the beer feel like it is slightly lost its purpose. 2014 Adam from the Wood really is taking on more complexity and I really am digging it right now.

Grassroots Bliss of Absence bottled on 3/2014.

So this bottle is 1 year and 2 months old.

This really became awesome with age. I really did not like the chamomile and lemongrass when this was beer was fresh, but now that those flavors are significantly faded and this wine barrel saison is really something. The beer pours a large head from a moderate pour speed, nice retention as well. Smells like white wine and hay with a light herbal backdrop. Taste is nice light tartness and white white. Light funk, but mostly the wine barrel is what is going on in the flavor profile. The beer is bright, crisp, and clean. Well carbonated without being overdone. This beer tastes like spring.

Had a New Glarus R&D beer tasting last night. Thanks to @Duff27 and @kawilliams81 for opening all those beers. It was fantastic!

R&D Golden Ale- funky as ever in the best possible way. Brett really made this beer into something delicious! creamy carbonation and well carbonated still. This might be one of the best brett beers that I have ever drank. Dan Carey please rebrew Golden Ale.

R&D Wild Sour- This honestly reminds me of RR Beatification, just not a sour as Beat. Nice funk balanced with sourness. Perfect carbonation and dry finish. This still has many years that it will develop in the bottle. I blended an ounce of Golden ale with an ounce of wild sour and it was really good.

R&D VSB- jammy blueberries and nice level of sourness that is not overly sour; balanced nicely. Also perfect carbonation and dry finish. This beer is just ridiculous and it has many good years to go.

R&D Wild Peach- Substantial sourness compared to when this was fresh. Still lots and lots of peach flavor. Crisp, clean, and dry. I think that Wild peach is getting to be just as tasty as VSB. Many years this beer will continue to age many years as well.
