Are all Hazy IPAs mostly the same?

I never drink the same beer consecutively either so I am always comparing when the styles permit me to do so.

We're not related that I know of, why would you ask? Did I accidentally login into Ancestory.com.

Thanks for bringing the crowler of Triple Crush Larry. It was flat out fantastic, and was one of the better NE style hazy IPA's/DIPA's I've ever tried. Amazing flavor and ridiculously drinkable for a 10% abv. beer.

Agreed. I shared a crowler at a party last night, and we were all thoroughly impressed. Delicious and did not taste anywhere near its 10%, even after it warmed up.

So I have to say, I had the distinct pleasure of drinking Strawberry Bisou from Great Notion the other night. If that beer was canned in a sixpack I don't know what I'd do with myself. Like holy shit, bravo on that one. :beers:

I tried it as well (last Friday).

My initial reaction was the same as yours (huge fresh fruit flavor that was right up front and in your face). However, I don't know what it is with their hazy fruited IPA's, but after a while I just get palate fatigue when I drink them. I ended up preferring the Orange Creamsicle, but even then, I ran out of steam near the end of my glass.

It's actually one of the reasons I limit my visits to GN. I find that a little bit of their hazy IPA's goes a long way, and are more enjoyable in small doses.

I dunno man. I could see getting burnt out on the Creamsicle, or even the Guava Mochi which was like hoppy fruit punch, but that Strawberry was just damn delightful.

Lol. I actually preferred the guava mochi, but I hear you. It pretty much was like drinking a sweet, fruit punch ipa. A small glass of it was as much of it as I could do.

Johns Market has a keg of Block 15 IHS on tap. clocks in at 10.5% and its damn good. not sure this qualifies as Hazy (probably doesnt) , but a lot of B15 IPAs are somewhere in that middle ground of not totally NE style, but definitely not traditional WC style IPAs. Either way, it was a great beer to have on first day back from vacation

Was this the IHS triple booster, or some other variant of the original IHS? The regular version was outstanding I thought, but it clocked in around 7.5% abv. The triple booster was a completely different kettle of fish, and unpleasant to drink (abv. was 10.5%). I thought for sure B15 wouldn't make it again (have not seen it in close to a year now).

Just curious, as I'd be very interested in trying a new version of the IHS, if that's what you had.

    Triple Booster was really terrible.

Regular IHS is juice. Damn good juice.

Completely agree. It was all the more reason why the triple booster was such a shock (a very unpleasant one). Given how good the IHS was, I thought the triple booster would surely be amazing. It made the reality all that much more of a disappointment.

it wasnt labeled triple booster. think it was "cosmically hopped out" or something like that. I remember how bad Triple booster was,

Round 3 of Fort George "Field of Greens" is out. Saw some at Macadams Zupans, gonna give this one another go for sure. This batch, entitled "Creedence" is brewed with X-331, Vic Secret, & Mosaic hops. 2-Row Barley, Pilsner, Flaked Wheat, and Special Aromatic malts, with an ESB yeast.

Will report back after I've tried it.
