For I while I bickered about the rising costs and diminishing pour sizes in the City. $6-$7 for a 10-12 ounces is not unheard of in SF, especially if it's higher ABV stuff. Then SF prices started showing up in the burbs and I found myself paying $6.50 for an IPA. A few months ago I paid $7.50 for a session ale...

I recently paid $8.50 for a pint of local 5.9% pale ale in Concord, CA. This was before the expected $1 tip. EIGHT FUCKING FIFTY!!! That is more than twice what an SNPA recently cost during happy hour at most CA dive bars.

    Yes, it's going up.

    Damn! I got a BB 4-pk for $14.99. KBS, however, was $24.99 a 4-pk.

I don't know about y'all but for reason I find craft beer expensive, not saying that it's not worth it but some prices are just hard to swallow sometimes especially when you walk to the check out and they want $50 for a six pack and 3 22oz bottles. If anything I hope that some of the breweries realize that we aren't all rich.

I noticed this at my local shop with the founders increase, the shop owner said it was the distributor that had the price increase because similar beers from a different distributor have not gone up

Just picked up a 6-pk of Celebration 'on sale' for $9.99. Which is what I remember from last year. So no, I haven't noticed a significant increase in price with beer overall. But we DO have an expensive hobby. I would have close to a mansion by now if I didn't have this particular hobby. Instead I live in a 3 room shack. ;-)

Craft beer w out a doubt has seen a surge in pricing, especially the seasonal/limited release stuff.

Is it a surge if it's the first time it's available? There's a price to printing labels, getting label approval, marketing, etc. I'm not saying you are wrong but I see no "crazy" pricing on draft only one-offs that are for pours or growlers only.

And what's crazy is out in Pennsylvania we pay $38 for a case of Sierra Nevada regular stuff and they seem to sell.. the rest of you enjoy the $28 cases while they last.

Yes, prices are generally increasing. All the more reason that I regularly buy a case of PBR ($15) or Rainier ($14) to supplement my beer needs without wiping out my limited budget.

I think costs are going up and brewers are getting cleverer about pricing. They can make more on high demand beers which can help cover other costs. Retailers have figured out that they can break up a $10 six pack and sell the individual bottles for $2.50 each.

If you are into the expensive beers your homebrew will be expensive too.

$5-6/ 12oz expensive? If so then yea, maybe I just need to stop drinking beer all together (hah no chance in hell).

I have consumed a lot of Bud and similar beer in the past but probably would consider selling my blood if I could not buy the good stuff now. Or maybe cutting back consumption-nope that is a nonstarter.

You've had bell's 30th in the past? Enjoy by 6ers JUST came out like 6 months ago or so, so what were they before back in the day....earlier in 2015?

The founders and ten fiddy do so a bit over what I pay and both have likely moved up a buck or two in the last 3-4 years. minor changes there really.

A year or so ago the TW here was selling Breakfast Stout for $4.50, they over bought big time and dumped it.

Yeah but that can was ditch aged, you can't expect that from a can straight from the carton.

$8.99 Breakfast Stout and $12.99 SN 12 packs.

    It's not so bad here.
