I traded for a couple bottles of Bruery Tart of Darkness and I was just wondering if these two beers were the same...I traded for the one with the purple label and don't really care if they aren't the same just pure curiosity.

Yes and no. Batch #2 was just released. Batch #1 was part of the provisions series, hence the label on the right. It was so popular they brought it back and this batch got distribution (not provisions series), hence the label on the left.

cool thanks, so when I was trying to figure this out myself I saw there was a batch aged with cranberries I think, was that a brewery exclusive or something?

Yes, they often do smaller containers aged on particular fruits at one offs during their special events.

S'more Tuesday is probably the most famous one. Black Tuesday aged on marshmallow and graham cracker.

Also, this current release of Tart of Darkness was aged in the barrels that formerly held Black Tuesday. If i am not mistaken, the 1st batch was not.
