Introvert, took me 4 years of lurking this site before i joined. Usually just drink with the wife at home over a wedge of cheese.

    Shrug.

    Cripplingly introverted.

Unless my friends actually call me to go somewhere, I stay at home for the most part. My attempts at being social have always been abortively awkward, and don't even get me started on dating. Just thinking about this subject is making me want to drown it out with beer right now.

    Introvert, for multiple reasons:
    1. Drinking at home is much more economical.
    2. I got into beer at the (relatively) late age of 25 so I never was into drinking at parties in college.
3a. When I drink at home I can drink whatever I feel like drinking.
3b. I can drink whatever I want at home and not have to worry about driving home.
    4. My wife and I enjoy drinking beer together and we also like spending time at home - so it's a natural combination for us.
    5. Drinking a good beer while quietly reading a good book is awesome.

There's nothing I like better than sitting around a pool with 60 or 70 people, beer-bonging pitchers of Consecration and Deliverance.

KBS beer pong is fun too.

Introvert. Almost always have a beer when I get home from work to unwind. Or puttering around the house, grilling, after yard work/snow removal, etc. I drink with friends, but most of the time I drink alone and usually just one or two beers.

For me, drinking beer socially is totally different than beer geeking (defined as rating and judging beers or comparing homebrews). Having drinks with friends, family and colleagues is distinctly a social activity and not a hobby time. In those contexts I avoid the frustration of not being able to think, talk or write about what I drink by leaning toward session beers that are easy on the brain, both in complexity and alcohol. Sometimes I drink something other than beer. I save the high gravity/complex stuff for the alone sessions and beer geek gatherings.

Rating beers sort of became an antisocial jerk mode for me, so I have to set out to either do them at home by myself at the computer or take a tablet or notepad to a bar and go through a flight of tasters alone. It's rude to review or even tick off ratings for beers in a social setting unless they are all doing it too. I found that out pretty quick. I don't take notes on new beers when I am out with coworkers friends or my wife, ever -- even if they say they don't mind. Enjoy your brew, savor your buzz if you get one and have a great conversation.

Judging homebrew competitions is also not a time to chit chat. You have to concentrate and come up with coherent and informative comments for the score sheet. It's ok to ask questions and discuss what's in front of you but that's about it. There's plenty of time for socializing between flights and during breaks.

I lean toward introversion. INTP with a weak I.

I'm introvert by nature, so I tend to do a lot of drinking at home. Since I now have two little kids, it allows me to spend more time with them as well. Still, when I travel or even at home, love going to bars, breweries, restaurants, etc...and enjoying some beer. I'll strike up a conversation on occasion, but usually it's me and my thoughts, watching some tv if it's there, etc. I use to belong to a beer group in town, but sadly it disbanded, but I met some great people in iit while it existed.

Introvert to the extreme. I have a drink at a bar maybe once or twice a year if there's the occasional local metal band playing that I like. See, the amount of bars around here with any craft selection is still extremely low. Any "scene" or "nightlife" that exists here really sucks. Never drink with friends (don't have any really), maybe a few times a year with some close family.

99.9% of the time I'm enjoying some sudz, I'm alone, doing some mix of listening to music, playing videogames, watchin' movies/anime, wasting time on the internet (not that this site is a waste of time ), doing homework (during the semester), or playing my guitar. And I still have a very good time.

I am definitely not an introvert, not even close ("alone time" is something I'd like to avoid if at all possible unless I have stuff to work on that won't get done otherwise, and actually talking to and spending time with people feels more like a "need" to me rather than a "want"... I seriously start to feel like I'm going nuts from the boredom/loneliness if I don't see or at least hear from friends for more than a few days in a row.)

But as far as having a beer goes, it's generally been at home by myself so far. Going out to bars and such alone is basically not an option for me (crowd-related anxiety issues, I need to have at least person that I actually know around -- not just a horde of strangers -- or I will freak out...), and most of my friends who live nearby are Mormon so I imagine they wouldn't really want to go someplace where a lot of drinking is going on. XD

I most enjoy the offerings at home, that said I do make a stop
once a week at one of 3 places with excellent staff and taplist.
Home with family and music is the best.

Depends how much I have drank. I know that sounds like a sarcastic remark, (and it started out as such), but I know its true about me, and probably many of you.

Introvert. I despise crowds of people so I normally go to the bar on weeknights to avoid the masses.

This is a very nice sentiment. What I do is get home in the afternoon after another interesting day at work, feed and love on my dogs, and go have 1 beer at my favorite local spot, usually a Foothills Jade. I've made great friends with fools just like me, from England, South Africa, and points all across America that all love this area.
