Not sure if this has ever been a topic previously, but are you loyal to your local breweries? Why or why not? I know they are so many breweries just popping up all over and I'm so glad that I can call Dogfish Head one of my local brews. Who are your local brews and what's good or bad about them?

I'm loyal to my local breweries, so far as they put out stuff that is at least close to as good as what I can get at the stores.

I'd definitely prefer to drink local, but if the quality isn't there, then neither am I.

I am lucky to have some really great breweries pretty near me. The closest one is Fullsteam, and I am unbelievably loyal to them. They are not my favorite NC brewery, but their brewpub is fantastic and their beers are mostly good, some great. What I love about them is their think local mentality. A lot of their beer is made strictly with local ingredients, some of which are even foraged for by the general public. There are so many reasons to appreciate what they are doing that even if you don't love all of their beer, you almost can't help but respect and support them. I have bought every beer they have put out for the past year that I have lived here, and I will continue to do so. There are a few that I have not loved, but the majority of their stuff is quite tasty and their practices are definitely worth supporting.

I live in Michigan so it's pretty much a normal occurrence as most other Michiganders would agree. I can get all of my favorite IPAs at under a month old, and mostly any other style I want is available as well. There is a ton of diversity from our breweries; ranging from those who do all Wild/Farmhouse ales(Jolly Pumpkin) to all Belgian styles(Vivant) and even more. Literally 80% of the normal stuff I drink aside from review beers is from Michigan. Shorts releases so many beers every year in varying and interesting styles, and I always buy a 6 pack of them. But anyways, the fact that the amount of quality beer in this state is so huge, I can honestly say that if I was limited to only one state it would be this one.

I always support any local breweries whether it be in my living area or where I'm visiting. Usually on my trips I try to stop at a local brewery if not more than one. My girlfriend has gotten to the point where she ask me which brewery we're going to.

Why? Because it's an American small business and craft breweries are one of the few businesses that are stimulating our economy.

I'm loyal to a brewery that makes quality beer. It's my hard earned money. I don't buy crap. With that said I buy beers from many Brewers in the US. But I'm lucky I live close to Carton. It's always a staple in my fridge. No need to trade and chase other overhyped beers.

Living in California, I almost exclusively drink Californian beers unless I'm traveling. When I travel, I always drink local.

I frequently visit the breweries near my home (Monkish, Strand, El Segundo).

I drink local because the quality is phenomenal, freshness is great, and I like getting brewery exclusives that don't make it to distribution.

Equal opportunity drinker, although I've put a lot of money into Dan Carey's hands.

If the quality's there, I'll drink it a fair amount, but I wouldn't stick to only the locals.

Capitalization in a title Tim G, come on.

I am loyal to my local breweries, unless your Orlando Brewing Partners, where I live, then no but everyone else seems to get it. They are gigantic, plain-jane, slow moving against the curve and pointlessly organic. Anything with a Mug Club, I want to kill and blame on El Catador Club and Preservation Society.

Living in Denver there is so many great breweries within a 20 min drive from home I could not pick a true favorite. But I love being able to have access to many different styles and new places constantly popping up.

I'm very lucky to have so many quality brewers in such a small state. It makes supporting local breweries easy..but, I kinda thought that was what this was all about.

Southern Tier is local for me and I do feel some loyalty I probably drink more of their stuff than anyone else but Sierra Nevada is a close second and they're hardly local. A brewery is supposed to open in the town I work in soon so I'm definitively looking forward to that and as long as the beer is good I will support them.

locality means nothing to me, although in my case the "local" breweries (whatever distance it seems) offerings are very worthy of drinking.

If you don't make good beer, I am simply not buying it regardless if you're within my so called "carbon footprint" or whatever.

If the beer is good, then yes, I'm loyal. If the beer is so-so then so is my dollars.

Honestly I could care less whose name is on the can, bottle or building...if the beer is good then I'm in!

Here in Missouri we have several great breweries in St. Louis that are 2 hours from the house.

Here is six of the better ones that I visit/buy frequently.
Many more solid breweries in MO (Mother's, Boulevard, Piney River) but I chose the closest for me to visit.

Funky Buddha is my local brewery and is one of my favorites. Of all the breweries near me it is the one i go to the most. I like to get to others qgen i can.

Since Funky they started bottling I keep some in my fridge at all times. Whenever I go out for dinner and its not a craft beer place I'll drink local, usually Funky or Due South.

I'm more loyal to my local bottle shop than the actual brewery.. Mostly because there's quite a few options around that I don't make it to any single brewery often enough to be considered a "loyal" customer. I hit the bottle shop multiple times a week though.. sometimes just to bring in a beer or two and share

i'm "loyal" to any brewery that sells consistently good beer at reasonable prices, but i am always happy if something made in my home state falls into that category.

It's a pretty far reach to attempt to claim that craft beer is one of the few stimulants of the current US economy.

Some of them yes, and some of them no. I make an effort to try a good deal of their offerings, and continue to purchase the beers I like. I love that local beer is being offered in more bars and restaurants and I always get that over the BMC offerings, but not always over other craft options. That being said there are a few breweries that really excite me here in VA, and there are a few that I think are sub par and I tend to shy away from them.
