Yep! While I drink other styles of beers. IPA's are my favorite and have been since I got my first taste of them back in 2000 by way if a Stone IPA.

Love great ipa's even though that is subjective. Brews like H T and Abrasive are just incredible . Love to try Sculpin in a can but ot for 17.99. 2H ale is a staple .

now that sounds good, and maybe something I would trade for. The only IPAs I have really been drinking are the tap only Pizza Port OB IPAs. I have thought about trading a few of those, but I can't land anything equally value/rarity, so this might solve that problem

I've been finding myself drinking a lot more lately, but that's more so because I have been going out more often and don't want to shell out the extra bucks for my preferred Belgian beer...so IPAs are a good, cheaper, option.

    You're right, I'm sorry.

Since nobody but folks living in your neck of the woods could possibly have tasted the beer you mentioned, I assumed your "honest question" was a humble brag that you had tasted a beer no one else could possibly have tasted.

I see you are from Ohio, and you are new here. Where folks are from is often listed underneath their avatar. The person to whom you recommended your local small batch beer is from North Carolina.

Here is a link to a site that tells you who gets what.

Nah. Only one point on a spectrum of flavors and often overdone in the States. Plus, the industry's response to the fanboy giddiness over this one overwhelming flavor is to 1) crank out more and more mediocre examples, and 2) label everything an IPA whether it resembles that or not.

Most definitely. Latest is Founder's All Day IPA. While I do enjoy other styles the IPA's are favorites.

I would like to both agree with you completely and totally disagree with you.

IPA in its traditional sense is just another in the bitter/mild/pale malt, done with well attenuative and more neutral tasting yeast, with a strong backing of hops mix. Done in the narrower English style it hardly promotes rabid enthusiasm. I would soon crave all the "other points of the spectrum" much more often if all I had was that moderately flavored beer, English hopped IPA.

Even in UK, though it has jumped out of that cage, and overseas brewers are now also brewing it American style. Judging by its popularity here, I think we have a right to an IPA called American Style

IPA has inspired a generation of adventurous brewing here. I have enjoyed lightest malt bills to complex hop bills of 9 ingredients and more, with hops that have added deliciously bright tastes and aromas of lemon, lemon peel, orange, orange zest, orange oil, sweet grapefruit, sour grapefruit, wine, sassafrass, black tea, mango, honeydew melon, peach, birch, plum, earth, pepper, onion, sweet flowers of myriad scents, herbal bitter, acrid bitter, and other essences impossible to describe that have added immense character and flavor to beers.

It has inspired brewers to use Brett to ferment IPA's, brewing the finest IPA I have tasted, Super Friends. It has produced and inspired beers of astounding diversity, huge taste appeal, and wonderful refreshment. White IPA's with Belgian yeast, Black IPA's, Hoppy Ambers, so many great ones inspired.

It has inspired a generation of brewers to push the limits of additions and treatments, and a generation of hop growers growing hops in the finest conditions for their excellence. I am not even close to bored with the style group, I can't wait for the next great one.

Not saying everyone should be this way, but on IPA day I am gonna say my piece in praise of them. And wish I was drinking one now :slight_frown: (6 more days)

Absolutely. I love the hoppy stuff. Namely APA's and IPA's. Cutting back on alcohol consumption so I'm limiting the DIPA's.
I started out with FFF stuff many moons ago and went off drinking all different types of beer and have come to know that hoppy beers are where it's at for me. I do however like many other styles but not quite as much overall.

    Happy IPA day!!

To answer honestly and simply: Yes.

In fact I recently got Untapp'd and out of the like 30 something beers I've logged, at least half of them have been IPAs or doubles.
