Alright fellow Arkies and passers-through. Here’s hoping 2021 does less damage to our scene than that last garbage excuse for a year. I know many local breweries are fighting just to remain open at the beginning of the year, but I think we will see some actual growth soon.

Ozark distributes to Southern MO. I believe Core did too, but may have pulled back.

Just started seeing his stuff down here. I’ll have to give it a try.

Pretty wild for what I assume is a small operation to be canning and distributing. Maybe contract brewing elsewhere?

Core was selling in Oklahoma for a while, not seen any in a year. If I did, I presume it was vinegar.

I have a few lose cans of those guys I picked up this week. Could never pull a trigger on a sixer although they have been down here for months

So today at Liquor World I picked 3 separate new to me East Sixth Beers. I will refer to them like people used to refer to Tallgrass beers past their demise; Zombie Beers

I know of no one else claiming Norfolk, AR, so maybe just a small operation. if I ever had them like at Frostfest I don't remember them

Drinking Chasin Galaxies Saison from New Province, not impressed, especially for the price. Flavors are as advertised, but not anything I would tout.

I thought Galaxies was ok, but didn’t realize the price til you said something. Certainly not worth that. Looking forward to trying the session ipa from Ozark today.

Tried the Black Oak Stout & Scurvy Dog IPA from Norfork Brewing, neither that great, not bad, just nothing to excited about...

Looks like Ozark is going to start digging into their stash a little on Thursdays. Last week it was a 2018 BDCS, there was plenty left on Saturday when I visited. Some cra-cra construction going on near by & I believe this is an effort to keep up patronage. Next week is 2019 BDCS

How does the craft beer scene in NW Arkansas compare to Little Rock area? Seems like NW has the better breweries with Ozark and Hawk Moth. What about beer stores and taprooms though? Also better in NW over Little Rock?

Anyone know if Arkansas allows beer to be shipped from other states? I’m guessing it is not allowed since most of the breweries shipping nationally don’t list Arkansas as one they can ship to although I’ve seen one or two that appear to allow Arkansas.

If we can get beer shipped to us it is news to me. I like our beer stores here in NWA, and I would say our tap rooms could hold their own, But other than Flying Saucer I have little barstool time in Little Rock other than Lost Forty & Rebel Kettle/East 6th before they went under

Last 2 weekends & this one I made it to Ozark for their one offs. Got to try some nice BDCS variants. Had lunch at Oven & Tap in Bentonville, great Pizza. Solid but short tap list. If you can give me 2 Hawkmoths & Hopslam, I am down.

Alright Arkansans, I would appreciate some help. My family booked a trip to the Ozarks as a good socially distanced vacation location. We're staying in North Central Arkansas - Mountain View. Planning on doing a fair amount of hiking/waterfall viewing/some fishing and just hanging out drinking at the cabin we booked. We're driving in from Wisconsin and will probably get a day in Hot Springs to at least tick the national park.

I've read some threads here, but it seems like they (understandably) focus on the more populated areas - Little Rock, Springdale, Hot Springs. While some of the Hot Springs stuff is good and I may end up using, we're not going to get over to Springdale or Little Rock - too far from where we are staying.

How ubiquitous are Arkansas breweries if I stop at a random liquor store (outside my dry county) on the way in? Can I grab Ozark brewing company, Core brewing, etc, at a random place in north central Arkansas? Or am I better off stocking up on stuff on my drive down from Wisconsin?

Also, if anyone is in the area, happy to bring down some stuff from Wisconsin for people to try.
