visited this place for the first time on Friday. I have to say after having admired their taplist from afar online for months, I was taken aback with the refreshing lack of any pretentiousness by the staff and crew. Great selections, served up attitude-free. I know at least a few places that could learn from this example.

Agreed. My favorite beer bar, period. I wish it was closer to me.

My only "complaint" about the place is it's not big enough. I'm a 6ft3in broad shouldered handicapped dude. Unless there's a stool at the bar or it's warm enough to wait outside, there's no such thing as an out of the way spot for me to stand in and wait for a table on a busy night. It's not a major crisis as I want the business to last and if I actually believed in planning ahead, it's easy enough to get there during the doldrums. All in all, if my cousin Tina hadn't registered an account on yelp to my email address and gotten me banned from ever posting I'd toads say nice warm and fuzzy things about the Abbey.

They are going to make it bigger. They are moving the kitchen to the left side of the building, knocking down the back wall that separates the seating area from the kitchen and adding more seating space.

Was there on Friday - had a Bruery Trade Winds, very good time. They had Grassroots VT/Mikkeller on tap too.

I agree that The Abbey is a great place to get a beer, I have been going since the day it opened and I am thankful it is <2miles from my home.

Let's go on Thursday. I think my crown of daisies and granola pantaloons should be dried by then.

True. That and the fact that we have a baby on the way is making it more and more difficult for us.

Hijacking this thread with baby talk? The Dive Bar allows strollers in the beer garden sat and sun from 12-6

That IS good to know! As you may know, my wife loves beer as much as I do.

Agree with you completely. I also love the unorthodox food menu.
