So I recently bought a bottle of Arrogant Bastard for the first time. Until now, I didn't realize that it says enjoy by 9/23/2013 on the bottle. Will the flavor be ruined now?

Pour it out! It turns to poison immediately after that date. Contact the hazardous waste authority in your area so the sewer can be notified. Honestly it will be just fine, maybe a tad less hoppy, but stll very very good.

It won't be as good, but its still worth drinking. I'd find another bottle thats fresher before judging the beer though.

It isn't at it's highest quality, but it isn't like drinking cardboard at this point.

You have to remember that the dwindling of an enjoy by style beer is a gradual effect..lots of factors like light, temperature of storage and other things come into play..im sure there are some of those enjoy by that date that were bad 2 weeks prior..and some im sure are good a month after...that enjoy by date is just a rough estimation, i doubt the guys at stone were trying the beer every day and, like a light switch, the beer turned to poison shit-sauce on that exact day when it was just fine the day before

All of the flavor will be ruined if you drink it. Just kidding but it is also a malty kind of beer so it should still be pretty damn good. Not as good as if it was fresh though. But only you can decide on that my friend, open it and find out. Cheers

It's fine. An awesome beer even with a little extra time on it. Drink with love. Be on the lookout for a fresher bottle just to give you an idea of how it is with a little more of a hop profile.

Lots of similar threads re: IPAs/hoppy beers and freshness dates in the forums.

I think you get the picture, EricReynolds, that it'll be OK to drink it despite flavor maybe changing a bit... thanks everyone, locking this one.

    Cheers,
    Brian
