Thanks. Good article, if not too revelatory. My suburb has a brewpub with 100+ tap lines but they all are served at 38f so I don't go very often. A Mexican restaurant nearby serves beer in frosted mugs so I always ask for my beer in a room temperature glass.

Nice article. Most people will at least understand this and maybe think twice before having a chilled glass. I will say before BA I had no idea about super cold being bad.

    Cheers!

That was a great read, and I learned some things. Question: It seems if a tap at 38 pours into a room temp glass, it wouldn't take long to reach the 48-55 degree point. Would it? Also, I like a fluffy, large, head. How does a cold glass perform next to a room temp glass?

Glasses that come out of the refrigerator or (worse) freezer take much longer to get up to a desirable temp.

Even if it's just a room temp glass, it will still take a bit of time to warm up a bit. Two things I like to do are to order two beers at once for myself (if I know I will have at least two while I'm there) so the second one can warm up, and also cup the glass with both hands to transfer body heat to the glass.

I know these are pretty obvious but some people may have not thought about this much, so thought I'd share.

Interesting read. Unfortunately, I think this is the last thing that the majority of the American beer drinking population is going to get right anytime soon. :slight_frown:
