I burnt out on beer fests a few years ago and don't crave them but do understand that some people find them fun.
To me -they're an indicator of a scene rather than a catalyst; look at all the new breweries in TX over the past 3 years -all without fests taking place.

However, given better laws, distribution, public desire for craft beer and more breweries -today we a scene that could support a festival.

I'll be interested to see what kind of turn out BTBF gets. The lineup looks like fun and really the TRE makes it a simple commute from Fort Worth. I know me and the lady are coming.

Thanks so much for your support. I know beer festivals aren't for everyone, but I really have enjoyed every single one I've been to, and hoped to bring the experience home for folks who haven't had a chance to travel to one.

We have sold quite a few advance tickets. I have no way to estimate the total quantity of people who will show to the first year, but I believe it will be a lot.

There are only 17 days left to get the discounted General Admission tickets, and VIP tickets. GA at the door go up $15, and VIP won't be sold that day, so get 'em now

Hope to see everyone out there!!

PS: I feel humbled and honored that so many have shown support through helping us with awareness. I also almost can't believe we have 41 attendees listed as RSVP's to our event. If you're not RSVP'd on there yet, here's the calendar event:

Worst event I've ever attended. I'm going to go check and see if anyone has written anything about it yet before I repeat, but if you look at their Fb page, or check the twitter hashtag #austinbeerfest you will see A LOT of really angry comments. More to come.

I didn't really expect much out of a "craft beer festival" that featured beer pong, flip cup, and a bunch of douchey sounding artists with a gigantic stage. We talked with the distributor here in Dallas about the event, and they had pre-sold some ridiculous quantities of tickets. We heard they'd already sold 20,000 although I am not sure if that number is correct, and hoped to bring out 60,000.

Our beer festival, the Big Texas Beer Fest, will never want to bring out those quantities of people. We don't want the biggest, we just want to provide the best experience possible. I think it gives Texas beer festivals a bad name, when those of us who are trying to do right by the craft beer world, have jerks like this just trying to make a buck.

    Cheers,
    Chad
