So I've been here a couple times now, and I've got to say that this brewery is pretty great.
I was lucky enough to have one of the last pours of their rye barrel aged I Need Gorillaz, which was amazing and complex. Both of their double IPA's were outstanding, and I wasn't disappointed with any others I tried. All the beers are solid to their style.
The food is also damn tasty and creative.
I just figured I haven't seen much love for this new brewery. I know a ton of places in Metro Detroit have opened recently, but this place is great and I figured it needed a shout out.

Just went a week ago today and have to agree...The coffee stout I had was easily one of the better beers I've tried in some time and the NovIPA was bright & easy going down.

The food menu they have on their website seems to be out of date, but the nachos with sloppy joes (added bacon for good measure) kind of blew me away.

I've been ignoring this place for some time, maybe its some sort of self-hating mindset about the SE Michigan beer scene, but I've found myself itching for a return trip.

I live right down the street from the brewery and have been going on and off since they opened. At first I was a bit underwhelmed by their brews as they all had a watered down taste/feel to them, but I must say, over the past couple months they have drastically improved.
I agree with the OP on the Rye Barrel I need Gorillaz, definitely my favorite beer of theirs thus far (its a Rye Barrel Aged Stout w/ Coconut & Nutmeg).
The improved beers along with the great food will keep me coming back for a long time!

The I-96 corridor from Howell to Novi has really exploded in the past couple years, with some really talented brewers making some damn fine beer

@Cplonks, your post is essentially a review of the brewery, so why not copy/paste it (and edit it a bit) and create a Review on the brewery's page so we'll all know some of the details.

Review is up. I am just really glad to see some solid breweries popping up on the west side( of metro Detroit)

I think this was the place the wife and I tried stopping at on the way back from a trip to Ikea (ugh) but they were closed because they ran out of beer. I think they had only been opened for a bit at that point. I'll have to try checking them out again next time I'm out that way.

I had the oppose experience. I went there I want to say about 4 months ago. Half the beer was not great. Half I took one sip and was done, terrible.
I did fill out a detailed comment card...maybe they read it :grinning:
I guess I will have to give it another try.

I was there once or twice a few weeks after they opened and haven't been back recently. It usually takes a few batches to get all of the brewery equipment broken in and working properly. I'll try them again, they do have a few beers on their list that I might enjoy.

Its a decent up and coming brewery...Im going to hold back the "great" comments as its not..That is just fact...BUT, they have improved tremendously as a good brewer should do gettting used to their system...Would like to see more consistency in their beers as they tend to taste different each time I try the place...But they are heading in the right direction...The food, like everyone says is pretty darn good..

Ok. Maybe not great, but at least pretty darn good, especially for a new place. There have been a lot of new places opening up recently, but this place is coming out as a little stronger than the others. I also visited when they first opened, and wasn't crazy impressed, but this last time I thought they were much improved, and a few of the beers I would say are very good. (At the very least)

I will have to try them again, as it sounds like they have improved.

Had a chance to stop by Ascension this past weekend. From the taplist, I enjoyed two of their IPAs the most; Sabo Smash and HOMES. They did have a leftover bottle of this, which I picked up:

I don't see a listing for the Rye BA version on here yet, anyone try it?
