May be heading down from Louisville to do a lot of trail running and beer drinking. I know where to go beerwise based on a past trips and the forums, but if any knowledgeable beer person/trail runner could direct me to some awesome/close trails to run while I'm down there I'd be grateful. Willing to do some IP stuff as well. I saw there is a White Squirrel Festival and its Craft Beer Week as well. Cheers!

For beer stuff, search the threads. Tons of info out there. For trail running, I enjoy mtn biking. when I go to Asheville, I ride at the aboretum. The trails there are absolutely endless and gorgeous. There are even trails specific for runners and bikers. Hit the local bike shops for maps and info.

Trail running and beer - the things I miss most about Asheville. Close to Pisgah is Warren Wilson College, which has a few cools trails that get a mix of hikers and runners. Maps at the link below.

Bent Creek (connected by a gate to the Arboretum mentioned above) is awesome and will give you plenty of ways to get to 20 miles. Map for Bent Creek is at the link below. I believe trail 337 features a tree tunnel that's really cool (if not 337, one nearby). The forest roads provide some good gradual climbs and mileage, and you can pick some side trails for more fun inclines/declines. Trail 145 (near the 150A intersection) gives you a good view of the Biltmore.

Montreat College also has good trails, though it's a little farther out from Pisgah.

I also ran on various trails off of the Blue Ridge Parkway, though I'm not sure I could tell you where. Jus' Running is a running store in town that may be able to direct you to other places as well.

Have fun!!! Definitely jealous of your trip.
