I do now see a reply to a comment on the link I just posted stating they were closed for the rest of the year. Was really hoping they would open up the outdoor area at least

My wife and took a short, 2 day trip in early September during the week. Because it was not a weekend there were no crowds anywhere, including the hotel we stayed at. We had no problem getting into the breweries we wanted to visit (Burial in particular). We ate at Wicked Weed and did take out the rest of the time.

However, I’m sure the weekends are different. In fact, I purchased tickets for a table at Burnpile later this month and I have to admit I wish I had not. Not that we don’t want to go, but now I believe hotels are at 100% capacity and all Airbnb look booked. I didn’t even think about people coming then to leaf peak, but I’m guessing that’s the driver. I was just foolishly thinking about how my last trip wasn’t crowded. Dumb.

I typically ride (motorcycle) to Asheville 2-3 times a year and my wife and I usually make a trip also, so I’ve been there before when the crowds were heavy...and I never really enjoy that...and never in a pandemic. I have a feeling this trip is not going to be my favorite.
