    Hi Everyone,

This is quite a ways out but I was wondering if there is a weekend in the Spring (late March through May) that people would recommend visiting Asheville, NC? I'm trying to take into consideration:
    - Brewery-Specific Beer Releases (I know it may be too soon to know when these will happen)
    - Cool Annual Events
    - Weather

Also, doing some preliminary checking on hotels in the Downtown/Biltmore area, it seems that they're pretty expensive (Hilton/Marriott/Holiday Inn brands easily $250-$300+ per night). Is that usually the going rate and are there maybe other areas of town or other hotels anyone would recommend checking out?

Thanks in advance for any tips and I'm sure this will be updated in the coming months.

Hotels in downtown/biltmore area are always expensive. I normally try to look for an air bnb.

Re: hotels, I've stayed at the Days Inn off Tunnel Rd. And those dates fluctuate. I've seen those rates from $100-$120. It's not far from downtown, and we used Uber. I've also stayed at the Renaissance downtown. During the week, it is more reasonable at about $169. Everyone has different budgets. Air B n B and VRBO are good options, although I've never used them in Asheville just because dates and available never lined up.

@NCbeer and @aleckpa, good call on Airbnb and VRBO. I'll make sure to check those out.

The Extended Stay on Tunnel Road is very affordable at around $95 a night. It's also about a mile or so away from downtown Asheville. My fiance and I stayed there the last time we went and were very pleased with our stay.

Whatever weekend fits your schedule! There is so much stuff going on, any weekend will work.

And AirbnB is definetly the way to go! Stay downtown and Uber to anything on the outskirts (but you will never get bored downtown).

Red angel comes out in late March. That's a nice release party/day. WW will have all the Angels on draft. Won't know exact date until that month unfortunately.

I agree with the others on Tunnel Road hotels. if you're on a budget, can't go wrong there. You're only a short drive downtown and Uber is out there so you shouldn't have a problem to/from. I would also check the Double Tree near Biltmore. I've gotten great deals there before.

Weather---You can't really go wrong with any of those months really. If you're hitting trails there's plenty around there and more around Brevard and Black Mtn.

Keep an eye on this site, and peruse this past year's events to get an idea of what will be coming up. Most of the big festivals and releases will be at roughly the same time next year.

Look into Downtown Inn & Suites. Cheaper than most, by no means luxury, but you are right in the heart of downtown.

Airbnb in either the Montford neighborhood or West Asheville has become our go-to, don't even look into hotels anymore. Last time our hosts went to the same concert we went to and gave us a ride home ha.

I'd say around Memorial Day. Sure the hotels are expensive, but normally it's around Asheville beer week. Normally something or three is getting released. Tons of stuff going on. It's warm, great outdoor things to do.

But yes - high tourist time and season other than right now for everyone flocking to the leaves.

Depends on priorities and what is expensive. Asheville is gonna run you 100 a night for a bare bones room most of the time.

If you are looking at current hotel rates, you are looking at the "fall leaf peeper" rate, when a place to stay is going at a premium. Spring should moderate the rates.
