"Walking around, sipping a pint and shopping for beer. Sadly, something we cannot do here in Denver."

It's funny what we take for granted here in NC!

I thought it was genius as well but it definitely caught me by surprise. Growler stations at grocery and liquor store were foreign to me as well, but very cool.

Nice read... Good to hear someone else talk about the things I try not to take for granted in Asheville.

That North Carolina has emerged as a player in the modern beer revolution is amazing. Just a few years ago, it would have been hard to imagine that things might evolve so beautifully. Asheville is a truly unique city and has been for a long time. It is no coincidence that Asheville has embraced brewing and vice versa. I love going to Asheville and hate leaving.

I have to agree about Asheville being amazing. If I was to give up my vision of paradise (salt water fishing, great beer) in Florida. Asheville or Charlotte is where I would set up camp. Love spending summer vacations in NC.

Happy North Carolina Pop the Cap Day. It was on August 13, 2005 when the law was changed raising the abv limit from 6% to 15% in North Carolina. We have come a long way in 9 years. Cheers!

My local beer store has one of the top 3 tap selections in my (fairly small, though fairly well-known in beer-world, town of Hickory). The recent growler-fill law changes really amped it up so it was profitable for beer stores to have more taps. I love having the choice of 10 different taps while shopping (or just sitting around shooting the shit with other beer peeps).
