Ashford Pub 1st Annual Brew B Que Cookoff

    Starting at 9am Saturday September 27th Ashford Pub on Westheimer will be having a charity bbq cookoff and will be tapping Whiskey Barrel aged Ten Fidy, Upslope Whiskey Barrel Brown, Mysterium Verum, Real Ale 18th Aniversary, St Arnold DR14, 20th Anniversary, Bishop Barrel 7 (bottles), Founders Dissenter and others. All Proceeds from the cookoff will go to the Kids Meals charity.

    Damn, if i can make it id go just fo rthe BA 10-fidy as ive never had it.....

    and id probably get there just as the keg kicked :wink:

    Any idea on the tap schedule for those beers? All on at 9am or will they be rotated in a different points through out the day?

    Yeah, all of the beers will be tapped at 9am. We also will be tapping a keg of Stone 18th Anniversary.

    What's the deal with the 'cook-off' part of this? You looking for folks to enter? Got a website with details? I couldn't find anything specific other than a flyer on the main website.

    Yes, there are 4 categories. Ribs, chicken, open (anything you want) and dessert. Entries are $20 a category with all proceeds going to Kids Meals. Ribs, chicken and open all need to be cooked at ashford pub. Dessert you can make at home. We will open at 9am for teams to set up their grills. Turn in times are dessert 2pm, open 3pm, chicken 4pm and ribs 5pm. You can sign up at the pub. Winners will be announced at 6pm.
