Years ago I hit up Brusin' Ales. I understand that it has sadly closed. Aside from buy directly from all the amazing breweries in town, where else can I pick up a variety of North Carolina cans/bottles?
If you are looking for Asheville and NC beer, most Ingle's grocery stores have a large cooler area dedicated to local and North Carolina beers.
I have always been a fan of Appalachian Vintner, great selection and you can enjoy a pint while you shop
Ingles in Mills River is probably the best Ingles of the 5 or so i have been too. Agree you can get a good local selection at most locations. I second the Appalachian Vintner, hit this store quite often when i was trading. The wife has me on a short leash when we go in there these days. You can easily spend 1-2 hours and enjoy a pint while shopping. I have recently discovered The Hot Spot gas stations and the one on Leicester Hwy (NC-63) has over 400 brews, a good number are local or regional brews you might not see in Mizzou. The Blue Door Bottleshop in downtown Hendersonville is worthy of a stop too. 20 or so taps and a solid NC selection. Downtown H-ville is great to have lunch or dinner and window shop along Main Street. Guidon Brewing makes solid lagers. If you want an authentic German experience, go to Haus Heidelburg. They have a handful of German taps available. Cheers! Tom
My wife and i recently enjoyed Homeplace in Burnsville. You can take singles of what they have in their cooler. Nice setup there, i bet weekend nights are fun to have a meal, listen to music and enjoy a pint or two. Homeplace does a nice job with their Brown ales. Happy travels! Tom
