Luckily my wife is a wine drinker, with that being said. My wife tells her friends and her friends husbands to LEAVE MY BEER ALONE! I have an amazing wife haha.

My wife drinks "Near Beer" AKA Mikes. So no problem there. And she knows I take it kind of seriously. As for friends well they are usually bringing something or I'm willing to share. And then her side are all bud and bud light drinkers...

never happened to me before, maybe it's because i keep my beer in my own mini-fridge or because friends/family know what would happen if they touched my precious personal stash.

i tell them to frig off! touch my frozen burgers or my beers and we'll have a problem.

Next time you go out with him, get appropriately hammered and tell him you forgot your wallet and let him pay. When he questions you later simply tell him we're even

There's a reason I keep my regular stuff in my kitchen fridge and my rare stuff in a mini fridge in my room.

The most recent incident was a bottle of Hel & Verdoemenis from Brouwerij De Molen.

Don't ask me why my wife and her friend picked this bottle of beer (a Russian imperial stout) when they know very well that I drink "strong and crazy" beers. Their alcohol tastes are more along the lines of light, slightly sweet wines and for beers - Rolling Rock and such. My wife even asks on a regular basis if I have any beers that our non-craft beer guests might enjoy (a whole other topic, but there are plenty of fine craft beers for the novice to try).

Anyway, I was holed up in the 'Fortress of Solitude', tunes blaring, stogie burning, and already well into some beer and bourbon, when Deb and Diane walked into the fortress and wanted to know if I wanted to finish the beer that they had just opened...Who knows why they thought one of my 'strange looking' bottles might be something Diane would like. At least Brouwerij De Molen beers are easy enough to come by here in Colorado Springs...no harm, no foul...

This doesn't happen often, but this was not an isolated incident...

Ah, I still love my wife (but jumpin' Jesus on a pogo stick!!! no wonder I drink "strong and crazy beers"...)...

Mother-in-law popped a black note.. drank 1-2 oz out of the bottle before deciding she didn't like it.. lol. She put the opened beer back in the fridge for me!

We use the same system in our house, works for us too.

Every time one of these threads comes up I'm absolutely amazed at the number of people who have visiting "friends" or family members who will grab a beer or wine without permission. On the other hand, if you've given permission and left something expensive or difficult to replace in easy public access I think that is on you.

I think that this is why I am afraid to have people over.

Only beer I lost was a CC Tropicalia. Not sure where it went, although I believe the culprit is either my father or mother-in-law. They mostly drink european beers, with the occasional Corona. I know they don't like my hoppy beers, so I'll have something available if they are around. They have been helping us a lot with our kids and I just failed to have something available, aside from that last Tropicalia. Luckily, I had one prior to that one 'disappearing'.

I stopped keeping my beer in my fridge because i have lost too many too count.
Father- Habanero Sculpin (a full 6 pack... I have no idea how he did this)
Some various other half cans customers have brought in for me
    Sip o' Sunshine
Brother- a four pack of HT
2010 BCBS (this was last year)
Strangers at a party- Just after Grapefruit sculpin started hitting in NJ I brought a 6pk to a friends house who was having a party for his girlfriend as well as an extra 6er for my friend who was hosting and some various other nice single bottle beers. I put the beers in the garage fridge that no one really knows about. 15 minutes later i go back to grab me and my friend another one and they aren't there! I suddenly notice everyone is drinking the nice beers i brought and me and my friend are just sitting there dumbfounded... forced to drink skunky corona...
Underage sister and her friends- Caught them trying to down a 2 year old bottle of black ops...

[Fast forward to now] I have a backpack cooler that i will leave in a corner of a party with my coat over it so no one will take my beer from the fridge (because for some reason no one knows how to bring beer to a party)
I have my own drawer in my basement fridge now that no one is allowed to touch...

I've only lost 1 and it could have been worse. My dad grabbed a 2015 Bigfoot and suffered through it.(He usually goes for standard lagers or on special occasions North Coast Pranqster) Fortunately I had a few more left, and he didn't grab any of the previous years that were sitting next to it.

Luckily, my girlfriend has her beers and I have mine so there is an understanding. I'll always keep a few beers around that can be used for guests or family. I also typically just buy some new beers if I'm having people over.

I had a bottle of DFH World Wide Stout opened by a macro swilling alcoholic neighbor when I wasn't around. I was visiting at my mother's house and was picking up beers to take home with me, this being one of them.

The neighbor opened it, took one slug right from the bottle then put it back in the fridge.

Subsequently, I bought a six pack of Sweetwater 420 as a decoy and moved all my cellaring purchases into a bachelor fridge in the bedroom where I was staying.

If it's in my house, my family is welcome to whatever they want. My son always brings a beautiful array of beer and wine to gatherings, my daughter brings New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for before meals, and we cook up a storm. I have a very fun family.

Usually keep my special bottles in the back behind something mundane so it's hidden. Girlfriend doesn't like stouts or sours which helps a lot. However my brother when he comes to visit from college has no sense of intake. Will drink anything at any point very quickly, very. But he knows he has free range, if it's visible he can have what he wants, hidden on the other hand no touchy. Which I do usually split beers like that with him as he is about the only one in my family who likes them just prefer to be there when it is consumed!
I've learned he drinks crafts like PBR so if I know he is coming to the house for the weekend I'll just happen to leave an actual case of PBR or Yeungling about so he usually flocks to that. Lol

I had a cabinet shelf open up a bottle of sexual chocolate without my permission. Was rearranging some stuff and went to slide it in and caught the cap on it.

    PSSSSSSHHHHT!
