Thanks for the update. Hoping to snag some Black Friday stouts if they're still available on Saturday. Based on the hype monsters, probably out of luck.

They are claiming to have a 'fast and easy line system' this year. Unless it's going to be sold online and pick up in person, probably not going to be 'fast or easy'. I'm guessing they'll just hand out tickets at a certain time and announce numbers like they did for the last bottle release (Herndon you can wait in your car, Alexandria you can wait in the tap room).

You also get an extra ~61oz of beer at Westbrook, for the same price (before tax).

Anybody know if Aslin is going to have the Black Friday beers on draft, or do we have to go elsewhere for our draft fix of those?

They said they would be on draft in a comment on IG.

Wonder when they’re going to post the details for Friday’s release, hopefully bottles counts per location get posted as well.

I asked on IG but they ignored it after replying back to me with the wrong answer

they posted the release info. 15 cases in Herndon and 25 in Alexandria (of each beer). I typically think of a case as 12 large format bottles which means 90 allotments in Herndon and 150 in Alexandria. If a case is 24 bottles then double those allotments.

edit: looks like they updated the case counts for Alexandria, case counts range from 22-33.

When them opening at 11am, I think 8am is a safe bet at the Herndon location?

Pretty sure their cases are 12 bottles each unless something changed.

Was really hoping Aslin would figure out a system for bottle sales like distribute the tickets at 8 am and 8:15 pull a random ticket to make that the first person or just open this up to online sales.

Tagging on, thoughts at getting to ALX at 9:30? I guess no one really knows how these two location releases work.

First year with two locations so who knows. People will be at TW Alexandria and there are a couple Aslin tap takeovers at Dominion and Church Key so that should (maybe) lessen the crowd.

I'm at Herndon currently. There's around 30 people already

About 100 people at Alexandria... actually looks like people camped out

Nothing about this release sounds ‘fast and easy’ unless you’re willing to miss out and show up around 1pm to pick up whatever doesn’t sell out. I’m guessing some of those will be available tomorrow.

I lined up in Alexandria at about 7:45 and was just shy of 50th in line. Can't see the end and don't want to speculate about how far it goes back. They handed out tickets around 10:00 or so.

There may or may not have been a surprisingly excellent bottle share in line around me. I can neither confirm nor deny.

Got to ALX around 10 and they weren't out of any bottles by the time my ticket (about 150 in line) got called. It was nice to get pours inside while waiting, but trying 3 of these at the same time is pretty hard. We still had to wait 1.5 hours after we were let in at 11, so I think that could have been a bit faster, but way better than waiting outside. Looking forward to being able to focus on the bottles by themselves.

The beer itself if pretty good, maybe a little too sweet but that's what I was expecting. Personally LOVED the maple bacon from last year. Not a perfect apples to apples comparison with the BBA stouts this year though. Terrible naming conventions, great beer.

I had one of them on draft at Dominion Wine and Beer and though it was good can't figure out for the like of me why people would stand in the cold and drop $30 per pint bottle for this beer. I'll stick to Lagunitas Willittized, which is a superior beer at $12 a four pack, imo.
