So it's (BSB) not the similar to the last batch?

To me it is the same. This batch seems to have more berry notes than dankness IMO

Why do their IPAs look like Newcastle now

On a side note, has MoO leveled out?

    *deep sigh*

No it has not. I poured last 1.5 oz into a separate glass. Nastiest thing I've ever seen at the bottom of a beer can.

Hey guys I am visiting from NJ tomorrow and plan to stop by for cans. Do cans always sell out really quickly? Will i need to be lined up before they open? Planning to go into DC with the kids and stop on my way back to Burke around 4-4:30.

They haven't sold out on Thursday in a month or so, you should be fine getting there at 4:30. I don't think either of these beers will go too fast.

Did anyone try the beers from yesterday? Saw some saying that Ontario was thin, which I don't recall it being that way before. Seems like when they fixed the sludge issue, their beers don't have the same mouthfeel and certainly not as hazy.

And what is up with all the collaborations? I don't even really know what goes on with a collaboration beer but they have all been slightly underwhelming compared to most Aslin beers.

I feel like the last month or so has been a bit off for them. A couple of the releases have been good to great (LaserR, DDunley, MtH) but pretty much each collab has been missing something, with JP being the best of the bunch. BSB and Ontario were both very thin.

I went to Churchkey this week and wouldn't put up Aslin with the top breweries. MtH for me was the only one that i felt would compare well.

70 cases of each beer left for today. That is crazy.

Agreed that the past month or so has been off, not the same. However I was at all the events this week and thought Aslin is definitely at the same level when they are on. Once the get through the past month and put out the beer we all know, then they will be right back in the conversation.

I remember when Trillium went through their expansion and they had some issues with their beer. It happens and only things look up.

On another note, I had Cellarmaker at the 6th engine event and thought it was the best beer there by far!

Definitely - when they are on, they are pretty fantastic. They've got me and i'm going to keep going back each Thursday.

Be completely honest with yourself, if Aslin wasn't a local brewery, would you be as forgiving with them as you are now? It seems to me like something is off with at least one batch every week, and every week there are multiple people in here saying things like "oh these guys are going to get it all straightened out soon, its just because of this or that", or "They made good beer once, so I'm just going to keep ignoring this". If you were trading for this beer, or if they were brewing more ordinary styles that you still enjoyed, would you feel the same way? Their beer is in the very top tier price wise, and its basically a coin flip as to whether it will be any good. I think people are granting them an incredible amount of leniency just because they desperately want to have the next hot thing in their own backyard.

I get where you are coming from, but to be honest I have tried almost all of the previously releases and only Master of Oranges, Neutrino, & Stellar have been sub par. I have traded for beers from Tired Hands for example and they continue to have diacetyl in their beer. I continue to trade because of the positive things I hear. I have had treehouse/trillium beers that have been disappointing, but they continue to get the praise.

I think you have disliked them since the beginning and I know I have been a fanboy since the beginning. I have positive outlook because I have had many beers across the country and I know they compete with whomever I feel is the top tier NE style beer producers. Like I said in the previous post, Trillium was getting a lot of flack for their beers being clear and now they are back on a roll.

Not to mention all most all of their gose and berliners compete with the J. Wakefields of the world.

All this being said, I think they are being looked under a microscopic lense because of the lack of tasting room and the attention they have quickly gotten.

Also, what is wrong with this batch. The rosemary vanilla is very creative and good beer and the small town taste like small town....a simcoe heavy IPA.

right now they are not consistent. Within the last couple of months I've had to return two beers and another was on the verge but decided not to.

I do love having them in my backyard but I've changed my buying habits starting this week - only bought a four pack (2 and 2). I'm not going to get a full allotment if it's a crap shoot.

I did like Ruckus and Bringo a good deal. has anyone tried Verdant Force yet?

    Hello,
I have a question I apologize if this was already answered. I'll be passing by Friday or Sunday. Any chance I'll be able to get Crowlers or Cans ?
