Verdant Force is good, but missing some holiness IMO

You will most likely be able to get cans.

Bring a Growler just in case. They also sell them for $5.00 onsite.

I agree with @beernuts. I think they're getting a pass when there's been some rea serious issues lately. It's 1 thing if these were 14, 15, 16 four packs. No these are 20, 21, 22 four packs. And I fortunately I think the issues are catching up because they're not getting these huge sell out cause a lot of us are getting more cautious. I frankly passed on last 2 releases cause one I didn't trust them and two I had a fridge full of Veil (which I haven't had to worry about)

Even with the multitude of misses recently, I think they are making the best IPAs that I have easy access to. That said, I've gone from buying full or close to full allotments to about 2 of each beer (I've missed 1 can release). I've had too many off beers to continue paying premium prices for the quality being produced. Once they upped production, they haven't been able to keep quality consistent. One thing I'd wish they would do is make a couple flagship beers and really dial those in, have them available every other week, same with Ocelot. Misses for me:

    Champion - pungent fart/sulfur/rubber aroma
DoS (cans, bottles were world class) - excessive sediment, last few oz burned
OS (2nd canning)- similar to DoS just not as bad
Neutrino - so much sludge, nearly undrinkable
    Stellar - throat burning particles
MoK - my cans taste like sewage, have one to trade/give away if anyone wants it
MoO (2nd canning) - knew better than to even buy after seeing reviews/pics
BSB and Ontario (2nd cannings) - thinner and less haze than previous batches but not bad, just sub par for Aslin so maybe not 'off'

Also, I think sometimes people, mostly Untappd, are giving high ratings to keep the trade value high/desirable.

I agree with much of what's been said. It's a couple of things for me. If you are going to charge $5/can then it better be very good to great. Otherwise I can go get a 12 pack of Born Again Yesterday for $20. I would have already written these guys off if it weren't for beers like Double Orange Starfish, Johann, MTH, and few others recently. I'm also going to stay with them because they have gone to new equipment. Much bigger fermenters, brite tanks, and a more automated system. This is a lot to get used to and adjust to. It is not a matter of if they figure things out, but when then figure things out.

But in this interim, I too won't be buying quite as much, but It will be very hard for me to go cold turkey.

And drinking my second BSB since the release. Much better after sitting for a week plus.

I agree Aslin is putting out some great beers. But their berliners are not even close to Wakefield.

How quickly do their beers usually come out from when they announce specific ones? Looking forward to that great notion collab, had Super Ripe and it was awesome. Obviously would depend on the yield and limits but would u expect it to sell out on the release day? From reading this thread lately it looks like I might be good to head down there Friday and pick up leftovers. I'm about 3hrs away in NJ and wouldn't mind gettin some growlers to help add to the trip.

No guarantees for anything on Fridays but if there are 100+ cases then there is a good chance there will be some cans leftover. Also depends on what else is released that week and the style they are brewing for the collab.

I'd suggest calling on the Thursday (around 7:45pm)before you want to drive down and asking if there is anything left. Sometimes they don't announce the Friday release details until a couple hours before opening.

I haven't been 100% feeling them lately but need to say that Bringo is pretty strong.

Not trying to pile on, but I came here to see if I was the only one disappointed the last couple of months. I've really enjoyed previous batches of Ontario and BSB but the latest were mediocre and virtually indistinguishable (and with hints of vanilla I don't remember in the past). A growler of Stellar, another prior favorite, went down the drain a few weeks ago.

Then you've got Bringo!, a bold move that made me skeptical, but that really worked. Describe the Ruckus was also up to the standard I expect from them, so who knows what's going on.

Declining can sales will tell you people are definitely not giving them a pass. Hopefully these are growing pains that will get ironed out soon, as I really want them to succeed.

This weekend is make or break for me. I love Double Orange Starfish and Johann. I predict all three beers are home runs.

Yeah this is a big release. Just when I've been strong and stayed away they come with this release. Sadly I'll probably be out there Thursday getting DOS and Gose.

i think one of the biggest issues with their lack of consistency is that they are constantly upgrading equipment and they are still young. I may give them the BOTD because they are local, but when a batch of DOS or MOK is on, it's better or equal to most IPAs you can get via trade, and lets be honest the trading grind is a pain in the ass. That said they have released some complete trash (champion, last moo) and certainly experienced inconsistency but they are extremely receptive to feedback and want you to be happy. FWIW, every single Johann has been unreal with broat being my favorite, so hopefully this week isnt the anomaly.

If you don't like something, let them know next time you're out there. They will take care of you.

So yea, I will cut them a break since they are local.
