You guys know there's a wall and the only way into town is to breach it, right?

You might want some howitzers, unless you just want to look like an idiot beer tourist.

Suppose I should offer a somewhat helpful post for once, there is a Subway nearby, as well as a new BA Burrito company (Chipotle-esque) location, both are very close to TG.

Old Armory is a solid BBQ place. You get a lot of food for the money. Mabes Pizza will be open until 11:30 Friday & Saturday.

Mabes will be slammed most of the weekend but a good pizza option. I'm guessing it will be the same at BA Burrito.

I recommend picking up some things at the Oneota Food Co-op downtown to sustain you in case there are long food waits. Lots of fresh fruits, snacks, etc. They also have a deli.

Angry Pickle is another deli option downtown if you're looking for something quick. I'm guessing they'll also struggle with lines.

Tbocks and Rubaiyat are great, though they are already involved in all this madness. Mabe's Pizza is great, the co-op is also high quality and has a few tables for eating food from the hot bar/deli.

I hit Mabe's pretty much every time I go to Decorah. My usual routine is to roll in at noon having ordered Mabes to be delivered to either TG or PR, depending on which we're going to first.

In general, I'm usually more stoked for PR's tap beer than TG's. PR is going to have some great stuff on tap. No lottery for me, but PR's Loopy Lynn, Pour Over variant and perhaps either Pudgy or For the Joy of Almonds will make a great start. They may still have Mr. Hoppy Pants too. Then off to Goodfella's and the Safe House for a couple Assassin pours and I'll be set for the day.

I e-mailed TG about how much to bring for the extra bottles and they responded with "Around $100." That was just about the extra bottles, though. Not merch.

Is T-Bocks the only sports pub in Decorah? I need a place to grab a bite and watch the badger basketball game on Thursday night. Any other recs would be appreciated.

Your Place sports bar and Good Times grill are probably your best alternatives to see the game and have a beer, but I can't vouch for their food.

Being an old, fat cat banker from South Dakota, I just want to warn everyone.... Once you take money out of an ATM, there is NO WAY of ever putting it back in as a replacement. Heed my warning!

Both T-Bocks and Good Times would work. Both have solid sports-bar food and TG + Pulpit on tap.

Good Times has better food than T-Bock's

Go to Your Place about noon on Saturday if you haven't left town. Killer Bloody Mary.

My personal opinion of course, but if you consider yourself a BBQ connoisseur to any measure, I'd avoid Old Armory. Very close to the worse experience (foodwise) in BBQ I've ever had the one time I visited. And I'm not talking just the meat. It was recommended to me by Mike S.. Guess I know how much I can trust his BBQ palate ...No wait!...:rolling_eyes::rolling_eyes:

Bunch of other great recommendations mentioned here that I'd go with instead.

By that amount I'd guess it's either a Chainsmoker or MD and 3 hoppy offerings.

That certainly sounds promising. The only ways to get way over ~$40 on 4 TG beers is a $50 cellar beer, something new, or an increase in the maximum. A max increase would make a little sense given that Iowa distro hasn't seen any of the new TG hops (disto delays a week or more though) for a while now. That's unusual but so is having a 1000 person release. They could also have decided to sell additional cans. But If that number is strictly beer, it looks pretty good.

Limits on hops are usually a case. It's not hard to spend $100 on a case of King Sue or other hops.
