Hey all, how crummy are side roads/ county roads in NE Iowa? I'll have a 4WD rental but wanted to hear from locals just to have an idea of how long I should plan on driving for.

 

I drove in from Kansas City today and the roads are fine. Parking lots however, are fairly sloppy.

This kind of goes to everyone who is not used to driving in snowy/icey conditions. Please do not assume 4WD/AWD makes you invinsibile. You cannot stop any quicker than 2WD and while it will help with traction, do not let this make your over confident and drive beyond your means. I can't count how many times during less than idea road conditions where I see more 4WD/AWD vehicles in the ditch than 2WD vehicles.

Also, if the snow in southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa is anything like we got in the Twin Cities, be careful in the country areas. Snow dift can impact the roads and make them slick.

I'm flying into Minneapolis from Florida on the 12th looking to do a share that day/night. Anyone else going to be in town the 12th down for a share? I'm staying at the Hampton Inn Downtown.

 

Honestly, I'd skip Pseudo Sue cans for now. The last 2 canning dates have been horrible. No hype or drama...beer is simply poor quality and inconsistent. Try and find some bottles if you can.
