Coming from SoCal , plane tickets bought to land in Minneapolis Thursday at 4pm I'll be renting a car if anyone needs a ride if they arrive at that time and my pick up time is 12-1pm, does anyone want to split costs on hotel/motel stay ?? Looks like all the places in decorah are fully booked

 

For anyone staying at the Super 8, they were really nice in allowing a share in their "kitchen" area the night before the MD release. I wasn't staying there, but crashed someone else's share and we had about 15 people at one point.

If you are driving, I suggest bringing more bottles than you think you'll need. It's really nice to realize you brought a pallet cleanser after 15 BA stouts. Also open the great stuff before your pallet gets destroyed and/or you pass out.

 

I'm hoping Country Inn will allow the same in their dining area.

 

we stayed there for MD b2 and they allowed a share there in the kitchen area as long as it was clean and empty before breakfast.

 

Will there be any good beer-related activities happening in the Twin Cities on Thursday night? I have flights on hold now, but I'm flying into La Crosse on Thursday and flying out of MSP on Friday, since my pick up window is 10:00 - 11:45 and flying out of MSP was one of the only ways I could guarantee I get home on Friday night.

 

Looks like I'm 2 for 2 and I'll be back in Decorah for KBBS. My buddy from San Antonio also got in. We will be bringing some JK and other Texas goodness up with us for the C&C share on Friday. Cheers folks!

 

I assume the CnC share will be inside? MD was mainly an outdoor event but I assume that was due to excellent weather.

 

Pretty sure mid January in NE Iowa is *not* patio season

 

People do crazy things for beer. I just don't want to show up unequipped for the elements.

 

My suggestion for people last time was to try out a few breweries during the day (Surly/Indeed/Dangerous Man/Fair State), then try Republic/Town Hall or Butcher & the Boar in the evening. Butcher & the Boar had great beers on tap for MD day so most people ended up going there. There won't be an "event" but there is usually something happening. There is a whole "Twin Cities on Tap" thread here in the Midwest forums so that will likely be where to look.

 

butcher and boar was awesome... we landed in MSP at about 9pm and went right there and got a ton of VR on tap...the food is damn good too.

 

Anyone know if country inn is doing a waitlist like they did for MD?

 

Anyone else up for a Father of the Year bottle share? Because you signed up your pregnant wife and she won, now you have to bring her and your two kids for an Iowa vacation in January?

 

Flights officially booked. Leaving Dallas 1/13 at 515AM, landing in LSE at 930AM, driving to Decorah, then back to Dallas by 1100PM. Going to be a long, awesome day.

I don't think he's flying himself. As long as he's got a way to and from the airport, he's golden.

 

Can anyone who was at the last MD release let me know if the owner sold any additional limited bottles that weren't announced in the taproom? i know there are the 4 additional bottles that are mentioned in the ticket but trying to decide if it's worth staying until the taproom opens at 4:30 in case they happen to sell more random bottles as I've heard happens occasionally.

 

Anyway just to circle back on this -- I missed out on the lotto and just cancelled my room there, so it may be worth a call if you're still looking for a place to stay.
