Is Assassin for BC Rare fair in your opinion?

I don't know if this is the right thread to post this, but i just landed an Assassin, is it a beer I'd want to sit on (properly cellared of course) and open down the line or just do it now? Normally, I hate cellaring before ever trying, but since this wasn't necessarily easy to get, not hard either because of an awesome BA, I just want to try it at it's peak so to speak. Again apologies to the OP and fellow BA's for any erroneous divergence or high jack of thread, no ill will intended.

There is no right answer here. I had one the day of release and it was fantastic. Thick, syrupy, sweet, and loads of barrel character. I think it's going to be awesome at 6 months as well. And probably at a year too.

The great thing about it (and any BA stout really) is that you can sit on it and wait for a special occasion. I plan on opening one around Christmas to see how it's changed. And probably one on my birthday in February. Basically, you can't go wrong.

Good looking out brotha, you have pushed me to indulge (I was leaning that way as is)- btw I really enjoyed your comparative review and re-review of the brew.

People who are assessing trade value PVW Assassin by virtue of last year's model have no idea what they're talking about, to put it bluntly.
It's a totally different beer, that I'm glad to have had the privilege to try.
I can only guess that once enough people actually drink it and figure that out it'll trade at an even higher rate.

Would a set of jester king provenance beers, atrial, Nocturn, and Aurelian (6:1) get this done?

holy crap it fucking better Lewis!

the Aurelian alone should do it in my opinion. maybe plus one more i.e. Atrial or something

I wish I had know you had an Aurelian...it's the only JK sour/saison we're missing for our tasting lineup
