    Hey gang...

    We all know our resident curmudgeon, Stahlsturm..... Well, his wife Cheryl posted this on FB yesterday:

    "I usually have something good to write but this time I don't. About 3 weeks ago my husband had surgery to remove a bad, hardened infection in the layer between the lung and rib cage. The surgery went fine but some hours later he had massive internal bleeding. During the second surgery to find and seal the bleed, he went into cardiac arrest because he just lost too much blood. It took about 4 minutes for them to reanimate him. Due to oxygen deprivation he has suffered rather bad brain damage. The extent of it is still not yet known. He is in a coma at this time. They will transport him to the neurology unit at another hospital tomorrow. I can, without a doubt, say this is one of the worst times of my life. I am attempting to remain positive and optimistic throughout this but I have my good and bad days. Please send over positive vibes/energy, prayers, whatever."


    Please keep Hart (Stahlsturm) and Cheryl in your thoughts and prayers...

    I am deeply saddened to read this. I greatly enjoyed Hart's contributions on BA and through his posts I felt like I got to know him a bit.

    Now is time for me to pray.

    I had a major stroke not too long ago and it didn't look too good for me for a while.

    But I survived. If an unhealthy SOB like me can live to drink another round, so can Hart. Never give up hope.

    "EEG has been made, results very shitty. I'm mustering all the strength I have and not giving up hope! Can't even begin to express how much this fucking sucks!"

    We were supposed to meet up with Stahlsturm the last time we were in Regensburg. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. I'm praying for another opportunity.

    @Bierman9 -- have you seen/heard any updates?

    Hart's favorite style is the same as mine, Märzen, drinking one now and thinking of him. Will even resort to pouring out bottles of Weizen (his least favorite) if it helps.

    Latest update last night from Cheryl...

    "Talked with the neurologist yesterday about the EEG, there's just very little activity going on in Hart's brain, the most affected area is the frontal lobe (personality, movement, speech/writing). Fuck my life."

    Not looking good... :slight_frown:
