Hey y'all. For years it was just Terrapin and our good ol' Copper Creek downtown. In the last two years, Creature Comforts has exploded, and I foresee Southern Brewing Company doing the same. Which is your favorite local venue and why? Terrapin is cool because of its outdoor scene and expansive yard, but Creature Comforts' location near food makes it my favorite. I can drink and put food in my stomach before trying to drive anywhere. And Lord knows, the windows offer entertaining people-watching on downtown Athens streets! Anyone here live in or near Athens? Would be cool to have a forum member meet at one of our breweries!
Lived there for 7 years until last August. Glad I enjoyed a full year of Creature Comforts. They're definitely the top tier in town in terms of quality. Love the Terrapin and SBC locations and space but their beers don't make it worth the visit.
I think a lot of the Southern Brewing beers are good , and things will get only better as they roll out their wild ale and barrel programs.
