As the title implies, the wife and I will be visiting Athens for the first time in early January. We're staying at some place called the NJV Athens Plaza hotel, which I gather is pretty centrally located in the downtown area of the city. I know absolutely nothing about the layout of the city, but I know beer is brewed in Greece and a Google search revealed several taphouses not too far from our hotel. Can anyone with experience of Greece and Athens recommend a multi-tap outpost near our hotel? Ideally, I'd like to find someplace featuring mostly local beer, but that's not an absolute prerequisite. We won't have access to a car, but we're happy to walk or Uber to any place interesting. If anyplace happens to have good food as well, that would be a bonus. Thanks guys!
Barley Cargo is close and worth while. Brew Str also pretty close and may be worth checking out. PM me if interested in further Athens tips as I recently visited
Thanks for the recommendations. We stopped by Barley Cargo today and the place was outstanding in every way. I was very surprised (in a good way).
