Heading to Atlanta this weekend for the SEC Tournament and am looking for some good places to drink near the Georgia Dome. Any help would be appreciated.

Downtown near there doesn't have any great craft spots from what I can recall.

A couple stops away on the train and a 5 minute walk is Augustines. My fellow ATLers can help me out, but that's the closest craft spot that you can get to from the Dome.

If you have time, take the train to Decatur and go to the Brick Store. Also a short cab ride from that area can take you to the Porter or The Wrecking Bar.

    Cheers!

Max Lager's brewpub is probably in walking distance, depending on where you are staying.

Yeah, downtown isn't great. There's a Taco Mac attached to Phillips Arena. It's a straight-up sports bar, but they have lots of taps and, depending on the location, often have good options. There's Der Biergarten, which I've never been to. As mentioned above, the best beer bars in town are the Porter, Wrecking Bar, and Brick Store. Midway Pub and Argosy in East Atlanta are also good but not on the MARTA lines.

Downtown, for non-craft beer destinations, there's the Sky Lounge at the Glenn Hotel--a nice view of the city but that's about it. Trader Vic's is a cool old school tiki bar.

You might be able to get some locals like Terrapin, Monday Night Brewing, and Sweetwater in the CNN center though! Totally forgot about that.

Next to Phillips Arena/CNN is Hudson Grille. They have lots of taps, they get some good stuff on occasion. You can at least get the regulars from the local breweries. Better tap prices than the Taco Mac. Food's average. Park Bar just down Centennial Park Drive has a good list too and better food. Max Lager's has great beer and food, but convention-level service. All those are walking distance.
Catch the MARTA train to Decatur. Get off at East Lake. Walk 5 min and check out Ale Yeah! It's a bottle shop so you can take some goodies home. Hop back on the train towards Decatur. Get off at the downtown station. You are a 30 second walk from Brick Store Pub and the entire Decatur Square, 2 minutes to Twain's brewpub. Have fun.

Der Biergarten is super close and a great place for German flair. Augustine's is just out of downtown and a great beer bar. Further out, as mentioned above.
