Hey going to Atlanta for the weekend and would like to have a few top notch spots to check out. Tastes vary depending on the weather so just hit me with what's best at each spot please!

With Atlanta and the traffic, depends on what part of the city you'll be in. Do prefer lagers, IPA's, Stouts, Sours? I can probably point you in the right direction.

no idea where were staying as a buddy's wife booked the Airbnb but the BDay party location is across the reservoir from Monday night brewing.

my tastes change based on season, here it's BA stout weather, if I go down south and it's still nice out I may be looking for Sours or Hazies.

Excellent! Lol, you're going to schizophrenic North GA weather treatment this weekend. 82F on Friday and high 60's and low in the high 40's Saturday and Sunday. Also, a lot of our breweries still have some Oktoberfest Marzens around still, so be sure to get try some of those.

Monday Night is a great place for IPA: Blind Pirate & Slap Fight plus Space Lettuce DIPA if its available (can't remember if it's on tap this time of year). They have some great BA beers there too.

New Realm is a must stop (one of the more well know brewmasters in the country is there & awesome city views from the roof top): Hazy Like a Fox is my personal favorite here. The Munich Dunkel is very good too.

Variant in Roswell: I am not a big fan of sours, but everyone who is raves about Variant, especially Spoldey (check their website for descriptions because they change frequently).

Orpheus Brewing: People love their sours (Atalanta Plum Saison is popular) and BA beers here. Abandon All Hope and Barrel Aged The Ferryman are two of my favorites here, but bring a DD because they are 13% ABV!

Three Taverns Brewery: This is another brewery people rave about their sours. Sour Asylum series.

For great lagers: Halfway Crooks, Arches Brewing (near the airport) and Tucker Brewing.

I hope that gives you some good ideas. You may be a little early for BA beers, but we have several breweries that do a great job with those. But for sours, Three Taverns, Orpheus and Variant are the two I hear the most about. Creature Comforts is one of the best breweries in the region, but they are about 2 hours northeast of Atlanta in Athens. But, if you are out at a bar or restaurant, look to see what might be available from them. They make some great Hazy IPAs.

Enjoy your stay and I'd love to hear back from you to see what you liked or didn't like.

Halfway crooks and Orpheus would be my top breweries. Porter beer bar and brick store pub for great beer bars.

If you're at Porter anyway, might as well stumble or take a quick drive (depending on where in the evening you are) over to Wrecking Bar. Typically have some good stuff on and their food is pretty awesome as well. Porter would typically be the priority though as their beer list is usually pretty awesome.

I second all these suggestions. Porter Beer Bar and Brick Store Pub are legendary in Atlanta. Great places to grab some variety. @Pereza987 I've never been to Olde Mecklenburg Brewery in Charlotte, but I hear it is very good.

Made it out to Orpheus and it was phenomenal. BA Sours were fantastic, Pilsner was great, loved 1/2 of the BA stouts the other was decent.

Also went to New Realm though only had two beers. The one I thought was good was the Coffee cream ale, the Tropical IPA was above average for a standard IPA but couldn't get anything about it being "tropical".

really enjoyed both overall and look forward to returning some time!

Excellent! Glad you were able to sample the scene a bit. Orpheus is not really my speed because I don't drink many sour beers, but I figured you would like it! Their Pilsner is pretty good though for a brewery not focused on lager.

New Realm - Coffee cream ale, that sound interesting. They've got an interesting setup there because they serve slightly different things in different parts of the bar (Downstairs, Rooftop, growler). It's definitely worth going back and spending more time exploring.

Glad you enjoyed your visit and thanks for the feedback. I always like hearing from visitors what they like/dislike at the local breweries. The craft beer scene in Atlanta has finally reached the point where it's gotten impossible to get around everywhere to try everything! Cheers!
