Brick Store Pub is awesome. They have cask ale there too, which is a rare offering these days. Halfway Crooks is a must do. If you decide to do Firemaker, you can hit Bold Monk and Round Trip, as they are all very close and make excellent beers. Monday Night is also in that area. Of course, some of it depends on the styles of beers you prefer. We are developing a solid lager beer scene here and you can find good IPAs and Stouts at most breweries.
Pro tip: if you ever come back, Good Word Brewing in Duluth is a must. It's out in the burbs but one of the best breweries in GA and well worth the trip out. They have cask ale as well and serve good food.

Thank you! Basically anything besides ipas or super sour for me these days.
I’m assuming Good Word could be found at some of the bars mentioned? Love cask ale!

Ah, we are definitely on the same page. Rarely does much of Good Word get out to bars and retailer. It does sometimes but rarely. You might more easily find Halfway Crooks, in fact it looks like Brick Store has a couple of HCB on tap today. Brick Store & Good Word are Cask Ale Certified by Cask Marque out of UK.

Best lager & European style breweries in GA are:

    Bold Monk Brewing
    Good Word Brewing
    Halfway Crooks Beer
    Round Trip Brewing
    Tucker Brewing Co

You'll find something you'll like at all of those. Bold Monk, Good Word, Halfway Crooks, & Tucker serve food. Round Trip does at their East Cobb location but not Atlanta.

Hope you have a great time and let us know how it turns out. Cheers!

10 years ago when I was last in Atlanta I was supposed to go to Brick Store Pub, but work ran way over and I had to head straight to the airport.
Finally went today, and it is incredible! A temple to good beer!

I was just looking at their taplist. Good time to be there for sure. Noticed they have Good Word Analog Life Dark Mild and Quantum Immortality on cask.

Monday Night Brewing is a great recommendation. I will also add Three Taverns in Decatur. A little outside Atlanta but worth the travel.

In addition to Good Word, I'd definitely hit the Truck and Tap. They usually have a good broad selection of beers there. Downtown Duluth, GA is a nice area to hang out for a while. Plenty of shops and restaurants to check out. They may have some activities going on at the Town Green as well. There is also a 6S Brewing Company in downtown Duluth, near Good Word. I've only been there once and thought the beer was decent. Cheers and have fun!

Pro tip: The best place to park is the public parking deck which is attached to the Marriott Courtyard. The entrance is off Ridgeway Rd. NW. Easy to find a spot most days and very short walk to the Town Green and Good Word Brewing.
