I will be in the Atlantic/Neptune Beach area next week 8/8-8/10. Looking for recommendations for local craft beer bars, liquor stores and breweries. Engine 15 and Green Room seem like good bets. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

I would go by Atlantic Beach Brewing, they are new but doing some good stuff (Bonfire Brown, Mayport Red). Decidedly, you must go to Southern Swells at the beach (Near Engine 15), they are killing the NEIPA game (Karate in the Garage, Truth Juice). Engine 15 also has non-house beers on, and tend to have a good selection. They have some pretty good pub food there, but are right next to TacoLu (highly recommended for Tacos and drinks). You are on the right path at Green Room. Great beer, great people, live music most Fri and Saturday nights. As far as bottle shops, go to Really Good Beer Stop right on 3rd Street, well-curated selection, great people and a crowler machine for the 15ish beers on tap. Right in AB, there is a store called Wine Warehouse, small beer selection, but it's good. Good food with good beer is tough at the beach, to be honest. Hoptinger out there has good pub food, and a lot of taps (some good, some average, occasionally a surprise awesome beer). I'll let someone who lives at the beach answer better regarding that though.

I always enjoy Ragtime. Beers are ok to good but the music in the barroom is fun and the food is decent. Also Poe's is right down the block and I thought their food and beer list are very solid.

If you head to Jax Beach to go the Green Room (and you should) also try and swing by Zeta Brewing as it is very close.

    Enjoy your trip!

We are staying right on the beach. A stone's throw from the "downtown walk" area. Poe's and Ragtime were on my radar. Thanks for the info.
I think Engine 15, Southern Swell and Green Room are in order provided I can get my DD wife off the beach!

If you are going to be eating at Atlantic Beach Town Center (I think that is what it is called..), I would recommend you skip the Flying Iguana and the new Asian spot, instead eat at Mezza's (live music most happy hours) or the North Beach Fish camp.

Also the restaurant and bar in One Ocean are fantastic but a bit spendy.

I'm also headed down that way this week, so hoping for some good beer!

Naw dude, definitely hit up flying iguana. The steak tacos are killer along with the blackened shrimp tacos. They carry a lot of local beers on tap as well. Mezza is also good as well but it's like a fine italian spot. More wine than beer.

Flying Iguana is awesome, can't believe I failed to mention it the first time! great tacos and drinks.

I'm going to have to revisit the Iguana. Have been there 3 times and never had anything that was better than average. My go to in Jacksonville is Tacolu but will give the Iguana another shot as it sounds I just may have had bad luck.

The Lu is good as well but its pretty hyped, 2 hour waits for tacos is a little crazy. I used to hate the crowds but then just started putting my name on the list and then walk next door to engine 15 to have some beers and wait for my table. Definitely hit up southern swells though. A new batch of karate in the garage is supposed to be available in the next day or so and truth juice is pretty fresh.

I went to the Atlantic Beach Brewery last night. I was impressed with their beers, staff and how they actually made a strip mall location seem pretty cool.

Only open three months and not yet in the BA database.

Went to Southern Swells. Void is a nice session, Gumdrop a worthy Berliner and Karate a well crafted IPA but Truth Juice is off the chain. Engine 15 was real solid. Both of their stouts were tasty; Max Voltage and Succubus which stole the show. Getting a pour of Birthday Bomb was a nice surprise. Their brisket sandwich, rice and beans and a 12 oz. pour of one of their beers for 9 bucks is the best deal in town. That sandwich was no joke. Also hit Atlantic Beach. Just had time for 3 quick tasters as our buzzer for Cantina Louie next door came 10 minutes too early. Duality was nice and the 98th street stout (non-nitro) hit the note.
