Audio auto-play ads

    for some kind of cat food.

    Hope that was a one-off bug, and that Beeradvocate isn't becoming one of those websites.

    It can happen with remnant ads. While we've toggled all of the annoying ad shit off, some get through the cracks and it's out of our control. We've also had users report auto-plays, but then admitted that their mouse may have hovered over the ad.

    The best thing you can do is report the URL of the ad to us and we can attempt to manually block it.

    Thanks, I'll note the ad URL if it happens again. I was on a different tab while the site was loading (milliseconds of impatience) when the ad started, so I'm pretty sure I hadn't hovered.

    I'm getting automatic pop ups on this site only (on my iPhone) that actually take me off the site. Am I the only one?

    If a mod wants to add this to my last post or just leave it here...this seems to be a problem only on my 3G and not on my wifi. Figured more info could possibly help. Thanks again.

    Update: We're aware of a several auto-play ads that are currently on the sidebar of the site. We're working on getting the agency that's responsible for them blocked.

    Yes, came to post that I'm getting a ton of in-banner video for the right rail 300x250. It's autostart, has auto audio and it prevents scrolling on the rest of the page.

    Is anyone else experiencing a freeze up on the pages when the ads come on on the BA page? The right arrow scrolls do nothing, the page goes up and down and sticks. If I refresh it fixes itself until the ad comes back on. This is especially annoying when you are typing a message and all of the data that you've inputted is lost because you have to refresh.

    It happens to me once in a while. Usually if I just refresh the page it's corrected.

    I noticed it yesterday for the first time and it just happened to me again.

    I initially thought it was forcing me to watch the add but then the adds just kept on coming and I couldn't scroll up or down the page.

    I wanted to post this in the help forum but wasn't able to post there.
    Every time I'm on a page that allows an ad video to play on the side, the whole page locks on the video until its over. Noticed this a couple days ago, but now the ads are playing about every two minutes. This makes doing anything on this site somewhat challenging.

    Anyone else having this issue?
