I thought it was really good, but I liked New Glarus' a little more.

 

So was I dreaming, or is it an acceptable practice to add flavored syrups to a berliner weisse? Thought I read that somewhere and was trying to find out more.

 

Anybody know where I can find woodruff syrup in the TC?

It's only three ingredients: Sugar, Water, and Green.

 

Just pour in a little Rübæus.

I haven't tried it yet - but I have both, and plan to try it next weekend.
I've heard this is a very good mix - and it makes sense that it would be.
Gave a bottle of each to a fellow BA tonight to try, after he shared a 3F Oude Geuze with me - my first .

I don't like dark beer, so I'm scared to try green too.

 

I gave this a try last weekend. Had a little Rübæus left in my glass, so I topped it off with a little NG Berliner. It wasn't mind blowing or anything, but they made a pretty tasty blend

 

Had it last night. Very tasty. I seem to remember liking NG's a touch more, but this was definitely a very solid offering.

btw, the Byerly's in Maple Grove has a ton of this, $11.99, no limit. (Or at least they did last night.)

 

Have you tried anywhere that sells flavored syrups for coffee, like Torani? You could also possibly find dried woodruff in the bulk spices/herbs/teas section of a co-op or Whole Foods.

An even easier option may be to make raspberry or blackberry syrup. I know it's not the same but the recipe is usually simple and tasty as hell.
