I haven't been in here in several months but who wants to get a tasting going soon. Lets see if we can set one up a local brewery or BYOB place, anything besides the Draught House and Pharas, too hot for that shit.
I'm always interested as are a number of people that have shown up for the last few tastings but I don't know of many indoor places that allow BYOB...usually someone just has to host.
A while back we had a tasting on the dock of ABW granted it wasn't so fn hot. It was one of the coolest tastings. Maybe a brewer or friend of a brewer will chime in. I am down to host a tasting meet some new people if needed, but there are a few BYOB places in Austin that would be fun and most importantly have AC.
If you can tour Rogness I definitely recommend it. They've been putting out some amazing beers lately.
Hmm, i know that The Salt Lick near Dripping Springs is BYOB and you can get a huge table inside with A/C...obviously we would have to order food, but its some of the best BBQ Austin has to offer...i can't think of anywhere else that will allow BYOB inside. Jester King is outside but they are always super nice about having bottle shares there
here is a few places http://austin.culturemap.com/news/r...the-best-spots-for-byob-dining-around-town-1/
They were BYOB.... https://www.facebook.com/3162920406...337847.316292040684/10152085728795685/?type=1
It's a ways away... but seriously considering hosting a bottle share during the VIP time slot of TX Craft Brewer's fest. I'm about 4-5 blocks from Fiesta Gardens. Thought we could enjoy some great beers then wander over for GA.
Just from my experiences....going to a bottle share before drinking more beer is generally never a good idea. Especially if that bottle share starts at 11AM, and then you start drinking more beer at 2PM, and then you know that you will end up wanting more beer after it is over at 6PM. But, hey, I do stupid things all the time.
I would do the bottle share and skip the Fest. Drink my cellar with fun people and not pay for entry* and pour tickets? Sign me up! *I am aware TCBF raises funds for a good cause.
Are these beer fests worth a shit anyway? I have never heard anything good about a beer fest in Texas. Older bottle shares at Freetail were the best btw.
