Hello fellow BA's - planning a golf trip to Austin with some buddies and hoping to get some assistance...

Brewpubs - looking for a good brewpub or restaurant with a good craft beer selection close to downtown. We'll be staying a few blocks from the convention center and looking to stay within about a 5-10 minute drive from there. I've been to Pinthouse Pizza (which I love) and ABGB (which I thought was just ok)....anything else close worth trying or should I stick with Pinthouse? (Also, I realize there are countless threads about Austin but I'm looking for a more narrowed focus and half the posts usually aren't related to the OP's question anyways).

Golf - figured I'd might as well ask about courses too in case anyone has knowledge on them. We'll be playing 3-4 rounds - never played there so no idea which are worth playing. From what I hear, would love to play Barton Creek and Wolfdancer but they're $120-$200 and above budget. Looking to stay more in the $60-$90 range. From researching it looks like the below are possibilities....anyone have info on them or any others worth playing? (for golf we're probably looking to keep it about a 30 min drive or so from downtown).
    Avery Ranch
    Star Ranch
    Shadow Glen
    Grey Rock
Thanks in advance - any info appreciated!

Depends on the brewpubs - Whip In and Zilker are both brewpubs. Zilker, though, is just a brewery that has a brewpub license (no guest taps, just 4 other own as of now).

Whip In does brew and have 60ish other taps. While it is a solid place, I'm not sold on going to it with any decent size group - it can be loud and not much for seating at popular times.

Hops and Grain may also work even though it's a brewery - they have usually 10 beers of their own on tap and a larger bar area. They are now open from 8AM to 10PM daily if you need that morning beer.

Draughthouse may work as well if you end up going towards Pinthouse. They have usually 3-4 of their own taps on, while having 60+ others, but it is further from downtown than others.

Black Star Coop would be good for food and beer, but again, about the same distance from downtown as Pinthouse. One advantage is that it is at the train stop to/from downtown.

You didn't ask specifically about this, but if you want something in the area of Avery Ranch in particular, Red Horn Coffee House and Brewery is nearby and has decent house brews with a good guest selection. Not much in the way of food, so you may want to plan for that separately.

Bangers is my favorite craft beer bar. They also have great food.

Definitely check out Hi Hat as a place to grab some good food and always has an awesome tap list. Hops and grain is also a quick walk away from Hi Hat as well.

    Additional golf courses to consider:

Teravista Golf Club (Round Rock) - Number 2 on Dallas Morning News Texas public golf course rankings in your price range
Legacy Hills (Georgetown) - Number 25 on same list
