I recently post a thread about obtaining JK bottles in the Dallas/Forth Worth area. Now I'm thinking that I can fly into Austin airport and rent a car over the the source (JK brewery). But they are only open Fri-Sun. And Friday is out of the question as far as flying back to SoCal that same day. Will I have better luck obtaining JK bottles someplace in Austin (nearby the airport) instead of going to the direct source (JK brewery)? Or am I better off going to the brewery to get bottles?
Straight from the source is best. You're not going to find any of the fruited sours or most collabs outside of there.
As far as variety and any limited bottles the brewery is your best option. If you are flying in you might as well take the next step and drive to the brewery.
Okay. Sounds good. Now will they have most of the bottles there on Saturday's? Looking to fly back with as many bottles as I can store inside my carry on size bag which I will be checking in? Not sure on when I'll be flying out. But sometimes in April.
If you have an idea of what you want, you're probably going to have better luck setting up an IP trade from someone local. JK has been releasing new stuff pretty regularly at the brewery, but it's not like they have shelves of Atrial laying around. With that said, the brewery should be visited, just keep your expectations reasonable.
Some C-stores in the city have a crazy selection of their stuff. Even some of the fruit/collab beers. My suggestion? Check out Beermenus.com You'll probably find a few things you're looking for. There are quite a few stores not too far from ABIA as well that have a decent selection of their beers. Good luck!
there are somethings you will only find at Jester King right now (audio pallet and Rufords Roadside Wares) and some things you will only find at stores, assuming the brewery for sale selection is the same as last week: (Black Metal, Wytchmaker, Das Wunderkind, Ambree, Figlet and Kollab. And maybe you could find Snorkle, Provenance and Estival Dichotomous but I haven't seen those in any shops recently.)
I've seen Snorkle and Provenance at a store on Lamar. I was hoping they'd mark them down, they tend to do that with beers that don't NEED to be marked down too. It's a good solid win every now and again.
Any chance you would share with? Would love another Snorkle. Pm me. Feel like I have been to most shops on south lamar as it is on my drive for work.
Hours and bottles to go posted here weekly. No surprises except when something sells out: http://jesterkingbrewery.com/tasting-room/
