Short version. Heading to Lake Buchanan this weekend for our annual River float (F the river's new laws), and 2 of our Friday the 13th birthdays (mine included). Hoping to get a keg of Live Oak Hefe.

I placed a call into Spec's RR this morning and the guy I spoke with, Bob, sounded optimistic he could get it done. Just in case they can't get it done I figure some of you guys might have the good word. I chose RR since it's easier for me to swing by that location on my way, but I suppose I could venture all the way into town for a keg and some Kerbey Lane before heading back out.

Alternate question. Anyone know if you can return a keg to a different Spec's location than you rented it from? We are heading back Sunday and I was hoping to make it easy on my friends to drop it off on Monday.

Call Spec's Brodie. That's the main location in Austin. They should have Live Oak Hefe if RR doesn't. Better yet, ask Bob if he knows of any stores nearer to ya have it in stock. There are also other places to get Kegs (Beverage Barn locations might have Live Oak in kegs... the one near me in S Austin has a surprisingly large assortment of craft beer... they are easier than Spec's because you literally drive in, they put the keg in your trunk, and you leave. I get kegs of Shiner there for parties)

Here ya go... here's Party Barn on Guadalupe. They have Live Oak HW in their keg selection. Easy location too, just north of campus. http://partybarnaustin.com/keg-beer-prices.html. 8G keg for $90. That said, call Beverage Barn, as they have more locations around town. Hope that helps.

Juniors, just North of campus too, carries Live Oak Hefe kegs. When we were pricing stuff recently they were about $20-$30 cheaper for a 15 gallon keg than Spec's was. Similar drive up/drive thru store. Nice people.

Unfortunately Junior's was a no-go for this weekend. Spec's RR ended up getting it done.

Thanks for the advice guys, cheers!
