As the title says. My flight gets in after dinnertime. I figure once I check in I'll have enough time for one stop so I want to make it count. Last time I was in Texas was ~9 months ago and I know a lot has changed/opened up since then. So: thoughts? Suggestions? I'm open to trying someplace new!

If I had one place to stop, it would probably be either the Draught House or Craft Pride on Rainey St.

Banger's is pretty awesome too, and very close to Craft Pride (which I haven't been to yet, but heard great things).

New? Try Pinthouse Pizza, Craft Pride or Bangers (very close so you could try both)

Good? Draught House is always the first choice (and Pinthouse Pizza is just around the corner, so you could hit both easily)

Plus, Draught House has almost everything for $2.75 on Tuesdays.

If you don't mind the crowd and the line, Draught House is your place on Tuesday with $2.75 pints. There's also Pinthouse, Hopfields (which has excellent food), Bangers, and CraftPride.

I know there's been an explosion of new activity out here. It's exciting, and I think the beerfinder reviews have yet to catch up. So thanks for weighing in gang. Everyone I've encountered since setting down has been so nice! And I love me some Draught House. It's like an outdoorsy, 'nice' Toronado. When I lived in San Anto I'd make a point of visiting on Sundays because that was Texas pint night, if I recall correctly.

Anyways, long trip, exhausted, bla bla bla, long story short I didn't get out last night.

My hotel was literally next door to NXNW (and it was "new" to me) so I figured I'd take it as a consolation prize. But they were closed up, lights out, even the bar--and it was maybe 10 pm! Is Austin in a post-SXSW recovery?

On the bright side I made a stop at the Central Market on my way out and found some goodies. Jester King is well stocked there. I just hope they still have a few bottles of the cedar-aged beer for me to pick up on my way back out of town next week.

NxNW closes at 10:00, Sunday through Thursday.

By the way, I wouldn't call it a "consolation prize," their beers are very well made and their food is good too.
