I didn't see any crowlers, but I wasn't looking specifically.

They do have crowlers at both locations of (I believe) any of their beers on tap.

Was just down there last month for SXSW. I bought a few crowlers. Looking forward to what you got to say about everything else in Austin @jhavs ! It's a fun city, I always enjoy going down to the hill country.

Hitting Austin, starting wed, for a wedding this Sat. Hitting Franklin's Fri early, like 8am. With chair and live oak in hand.

Come by, say hi. Or laugh and point.

Hitting a bunch of spots this week. Including JK at Open on Fri.

    Level of excitement is high!

They have chairs at franklins if you get there early enough. And I'd shoot for 7, at 8 you will still be like 100th in line. Once those doors open it sucks to still be in line while people are eating heaven inside.

a question from someone like who lacks a drive´s license, how´s the public transports option like with buying several days in one package? and are there any bars close to buss stops or train stations?

Plenty of bars/breweries along bus routes and breweries near a couple of the train route (mostly East 6th breweries and the north Austin breweries around Austin Beerworks).

I have never used these bike stations but it could be a good option for you:

Thanks to all for the recommendations in this thread. I was in town for a quick work trip and Craft Pride and Bangers gave me a great selection of beers.

Forgot to update. Went to Franklin's last Fri. Arrived at 7am. Had food by 1130am.

    WORTH IT!

Sorry if this has already been covered, but is there a restaurant with a solid craft beer selection on Lake Travis? Renting a condo on the lake, and looking for a short drive.

Oasis Brewing has amazing views. Good beer and food. Don't confuse it with The Oasis Restaurant next door, which is of much lower quality.

There is also Lucy's Fried Chicken. Again, great views, decent fried chicken (and other food) and local beer on tap.

Oasis TX Brewing is the correct answer.

Thanks for the suggestion on Oasis TX Brewing, sounds like a really cool place reading the reviews. I also plan on swinging by Pinthouse Pizza (south location) on my way over there to Lake Travis. They do crowlers right? I would like to grab a few of their IPA's to go.

    Yeah, they do crowlers.

The north one seems to be pulling it together now as well (at least the last time I went there). I still think the south has more beer choices though. You can view the current tap list at both of them on their website.

Depends on budget/what you're looking for, but given those stops, I would skip the craft beer requirement and just go with food. The very good ones should have at least a passable craft beer selection and good-to-excellent cocktails. At worst, you should be walking distance to pretty good beer after your meal.

If it's a Friday lunch, go to Perry's.

Thanks, and I definitely agree. Good food is more important to me, considering my family I'm going with. Unfortunately it won't be Friday when I go, but Wednesday afternoon. So perrys might be out the question. (Opening hours)

So I'm really looking for something close walking distance from the 1603 south congress ave, 602 e 4th st, or 412 e 6th st stops. Thanks
