Any Australian brewers aging stuff in wine barrels? So many great Australian wines. I would love to see some wine barrel aged beers.

There's been some that I can think of...Bridge Roads using Giaconda for one of their special releases & also for Aurora Australis, Feral with Barrique O'Karma, McLaren Vale with a limited release at the Australian Hotel Beer Festival.

3 Ravens Ale Noir and Double Ale Noir were both aged in Pinot Noir barrels

Prickly Moses Vintage Ale was aged in Pinot Noir barrels (it wasn't very good tbh)

MoonDog age a number of beers in wine barrels

Think Feral use wine barrels e.g. Chardonnay for several of their sours

I'm sure there's numerous other examples too tbh

Wig & Pen use wine barrels for their wild ales. Not sure who he gets them off.

Hop Dog has done a couple beers in Red wine barrels and I think one in chard barrels.

Does not count but Willie Simpson has done a few things in Lark Whisky Barrels or cask

The standard release of Convict wasn't barrel-aged was it?

Nah, they did only the last few barrels. Kept it mostly to themselves....going to wrestle one off them.

IBC has done Wine and Rum. Myself, YH, IBC, Hop Dog and Doctors orders all did some Rum Barrel aging ... i bought a head off of a rum plant and split them out

The IBC saison in the wine barrel was killer, had a growler of it and near had to play ro-sham-bo with the old man even to get a glass, thats how much he loved it.

Still trying to do the maths as to whether the move from $750ml / $70 down to 500ml / $30 still ranks it as #1. Running a macro now.
