I live in Florida and my parents live in Central Indiana south of Indianapolis. I'm trying to get my parents to check out the local stores so they can perhaps ship me down some beer that's not available in Sunny Florida. I'd love some 3 Floyd's and I know a restaurant they frequent serves a couple different 3F beers but I'm not sure what's carried in the local grocery stores. Anybody from the area that could help me out? Thanks in advance.
Probably won't find FFF in the grocery stores, but most Indy area liquor stores will carry it. They should be able to easily find the flagship beers and some of the bombers, but ZD and GH will be really difficult. They can go into Big Red, Crown, 21st Amendment, etc. and grab a sixer of Alpha King almost anytime. Not sure where you folks are at, but next time they go to Indy they shouldn't have a problem finding some things for you.
Have the, get some Daredevil Liftoff, and I think they just started canning Ripcord. Great local beers for the same neck of the woods.
On the south side of Indy, try the Parti-Pak ( https://twitter.com/partipakliquors ). Good selection. Good prices. It's just east of Madison Ave on Stop 11 road.
Glad you enjoy our Lift Off IPA. We have not started canning our Rip Cord Double IPA, but we do plan to have it available later this year. We have posted photos of the new can design since we have that completed.
Checking over the distribution lists, it looks you get most of the same things down in FL with the exception of the Indiana-based brewers and Schlafly. For 3F, I'd check in some of the larger 21st Amendment stores mid-week in the afternoon. Most of the larger stores will get a case of Zombie Dust and/or Gumballhead once a week. If you like Gumballhead, Boulevard's 80 Acre is nearly identical to Gumballhead and they do distribute in Florida. Alpha King, Robert The Bruce and Yum-Yum are a little easier to find. If you like Scottish Ales at all, I would strongly recommend Robert The Bruce. If you don't mind the expensive bombers, most of those are fairly easy to find as well. The only grocery store I've ever found any 3F is Whole Foods. As others have mentioned, Lift-Off is a good choice and should be available at all your major liquor stores. I would also have them pick up the new Schlafly seasonal American IPA...it's fantastic. I'm a big fan of Triton's Railsplitter and Kroger currently has it for $8.48/6-pack which is a great price.
Thanks for the heads up. I'm eager to try Zombie Dust (of course) and Gumball head. Would you compare Gumball head to lil sumpin lil sumpin?
