The buyers remorse poll determined that portions of one or more grains will be replaced with a crystal malt. This poll will determine the specific crystal malt. The following polls will determine which grain(s) will be reduced to make room for the crystal and how much crystal will be used.

In this poll, you can vote for more than one crystal malt, to avoid splitting the vote between two or more types you feel are very similar. The one selection that gets the most votes will win. No attempt was made to distinguish between American and English crystal malts...so for example, if you want an English 77L crystal, pick C-80.

This poll will be open for 48 hours.

(For those who don't know what I'm talking about, see this thread about the first beer we did (and the bazillion ensuing polls and the final recipes)...http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/the-averagely-perfect-american-ipa-project.59552/ )

If you have issues with or suggestions for methodologies used in this project, please Beer Mail me. Let's keep the threads themselves on topic to the question at hand (not about how you would have asked the question differently). Thanks!

I voted CaraMunich and C80. Preference to the former, and the latter was only chosen because I figured C60 and C80 would both get a lot of votes, and I'd rather have 80 over 60. Looking to sub out two row by the way...

    If only.

I hear ya but I just meant that I wanted to exchange an equal portion of two row for the crystal malt(s)

Fair enough...personally I would make the exchange with Munich instead of 2-row.

I voted for C80 and Special B. The C80 seems pretty obvious to me, but I think a little bit of Special B would work here. Based on the voting, it looks like there is no chance for Special B.

    C-80 for the win.

I can see 60 or 80 in this beer, but I would personally like to get rid of the oatmeal and/or the munich to simplify the malt bill
