The pre-poll determined that the style built by the Averagely Perfect Project #6 will be a Dubbel.

If you don't know what these projects are about, do a search on Averagely Perfect American IPA, Averagely Perfect American Stout, Averagely Perfect Saison, Averagely Perfect NorthEast IPA, or Averagely Perfect ESB. But basically, these projects build crowd sourced recipes among the BAs here on the Homebrewing forum.

This poll (#1) will determine the ABV target.

When this poll is done, I will look at the data a few different ways to determine if there is a central tendency. It may or may not be as simple as a plurality would indicate. There may or may not be a runoff(s). It all depends on the data.

If you have issues with or suggestions for methodologies used in this project, please send them via beermail. Let's keep the threads themselves on topic to the question at hand and not about how you would have asked the question differently.

Once ABV is determined, the following poll(s) will determine Final Gravity (FG), and thus Original Gravity (OG).

This poll will be open for 48 hours.

All of the great authentic Trappist Dubbels that I've had have an ABV north of 7%, so I went 7.4. I would have went 7.6, but I don't want to look like a drunk.

I was thinking Chimay is right at 7% and St. Bernadus might even be a bit less.

Having no experience with Dubbels I can't really say which way I'd prefer so I just voted for an even 7.

St. Bernardus Prior 8 is ~8% and Pater 6 is 6%. The numbering system is pretty handy.

My best effort in this category was 7.2%. I doubt more ABV would have earned BOS.
