I didn't vote that way, but suspect with much of the attempts to keep Brett out, then choosing a "Brett" strain that doesn't really add much funk, major calls for using only Pils malt, trying to get it up in the 6.something% ABV range, and this current Saaz only coo, is an attempt to make Dupont. Dupont is supposed to be 100% Pils, 100% Saaz, and 100% magnificent.

Because none of the hops I voted for in any of the 3 posts made it and on top of that (I have no problem with saaz, just would never in a million years voted for it) if saaz is in, I'll brew with whatever the crowd votes for, I just didn't want to add to the saaz. All in for saaz.

Just like the "Gang of 39" . . . the NOTA-16 don't have a lot to say. I'll start a rally-point in the official poll for the "in favor of quality flavor/aroma" vote-splitters to consolidate.

I voted for Saaz looking for something more traditional and in line with DuPont/ Blaugies/ etc. I love American (especially Amarillo) dry hopped saisons but don't think that fits this bill. My only disappointment this far is the lack of barnyard funk(well maybe also tough to hit gravity). I may do a split batch with half switching the Brett to Orval or Allagash dregs.

I'm one of the None of the Above. All of the hops are sorta similar in my mind; spicy, floral, earthy. Yes I know some of them might lean more to one of those flavors, but not that much different. Since I feel this way, I'm not going to complicate the hop bill by mixing and matching the hop and will just stick with one. That was my thinking.

I just posted this in the other thread, BTW, why not have this conversation there?

"I refer you to the very first post in this thread. What do these other hops add to the greatness that is Saaz? I am happy to change my vote, but adding other hops for the "complexity" of it is not a good reason. Have you used any of these combos in saisons? Especially with 3724? Or 644? I get that the other 3 are good hops (I love EKG in a bitter), but I have never used any of them with Saaz. FWIW, I have only used Saaz in a couple Czech Pils, never a saison. "

It is a bit confusing to me. I would have though from previous polls that StG (which I voted for) was almost definite.

StG got 19 votes to be added (vs Saaz @ 22 votes), Hallertau 18 votes (vs NS @ 13, and none from the list @ 10), and EKG 14 votes (vs none from the list @ 14)...

I was under the impression that it had my beloved Hallertau, so I pulled out Farmhouse Ales. Verdict is...EKG and Styrian. (p. 143).

I wanted to run a poll... and thought a hijack would add to the fun...

I voted hallertauer in the other thread strictly from experience. I like the combo together. In my heart I want nelson and lacto in this as well though. So while I will be brewing something very close to this recipe soon, it will include those as well. LOL.

For me it is part ignorance part simplicity. I like Sazz, have not used alot of the other noble hops and did not want to start putting too many inputs into the beer.

I thought some nice fresh Sazz would be sufficient with 2 strains of yeast working.
