Here is the updated label. I'm curious how the case allotment and alcohol went up so considerably. I doubt this will make it out of state. I'm just hoping it makes it to CO distro, because I probably won't be able to make it to the brewery this Sunday. Just dropped a pretty penny on pumpkyn and rumpkin, but can't pass this up. Avery is bleeding my wallet dry, one $12 bottle at a time.

When they do label approval through the TTB it's typically 1-2 months prior to actually bottling in which case they won't know the exact ABV or allotment until they unbarrel it, labels are typically best guess based on recipe and historical average yields per barrel. On average one barrel equals about 15-16 cases IIRC, so if they were expecting to lose 6 barrels and they only lost 3 barrels well it can fluctuate.

It's actually really smart business planning (or extremely lucky) to empty all the barrels and sell it all so they don't incure the moving costs (and risk) of all those full barrels to a new facility. Hopefully though they won't skip a beat and at least have one or two barrel aged beers in the mix so there won't be a lull when they move.

424 cases is an awful lot to keep in-state. Many in the barrel-aged series have hit the entire distro footprint at a similar or even lower case count. I think price keeps demand on these very low, to the point they can spread them pretty thin without having people kill themselves to score some.

I agree completely. Either they are REALLY lucky or timed it perfectly... maybe a little of both, but I cannot wait for all the amazing beer.

Just out of curiosity which ones have made it out your way aside from their annual releases (ie uncle Jacobs, Rumpkin, etc)?

I love BA stouts but some of the prices are just too much. Uncle Jacobs was going $17.99 for a twelve ounce bottle in my area. There are a few others like Port Brewing's Older Viscosity and Santa's Little Helper that go for $15.99 for a twelve ounce bottle. Would love to try them but that's too much money, I'll stick with Parabola, bigger bottle same price, good beer!

You won't find this in Cali. Only CO. 400 cases.
Avery BA stuff is all 12.99 to 13.99 here in CO.
Plus, it blows Port brewing away.

I'm sure its good but it's out of my budget. I did see Uncle Jacobs in one store in Ca for $17.99 I almost bought it but thought what if it's not worth it? I've never had Port Brewing's BA beers but some of their IPAs are really good and priced decently. I don't know if breweries are just testing with how much they could sell a beer for but I do get priced out of some beers, cheers!

It's not the breweries fault for higher prices in cali for Jacobs. It's the distributors.

Not sure where you're getting your info on that last point, but the BA masses say otherwise; Avery's UJ, PumpKYn, Rumpkin, and 5 Monks score 4.41, 4.05, 4.07, and 4.37; Port/Lost Abbey's Deliverance, Angel's Share, Older Viscosity, and Agave Maria score 4.31, 4.27, 4.35, and 4.04. These seem to be each brewer's best-known BA specialties, and they're pretty much neck-and-neck. Also, Port/LA uses 375ml bottles, which are clearly superior

Right on. Port brewing is mostly boring to me. Not that complex.
Cuvee de tomme is good though on tap.
With a name like Old/Older viscosity, it should be thick, not thin.
    My opinion.
I don't go strictly by BA scores. Plenty of over-rated beers out there.
