I would like to know if there is anyone that can help me decipher the bottle code for an Avery Brew. I bought a Maharaja on vacation a few weeks back and just cracked it open but I am not having the same experience that others seem to enjoy. I am getting a very malt forward smell and taste, more like a barley wine. That makes me think that maybe my bottle isn't fresh... My code was not a clean stamp so I have trouble making out some of the characters, but here is my best guess 2047B1 10:32260 Just want to double check this before I write off this (supposedly) good beer.
Thank you. The code might be 3047B1 but that still makes me understand why I didn't get the hop forward smells and taste others got. Also proves to be another reason why breweries need to put actual dates on their bottles and not codes.
