Nice, you too will now be able to buy 15 dollar 12 oz bottles. I hope if you are married to a non beer geek you have a good cover story. I usually use gambling.
I am more surprised that Minnesota doesn't have a 15% (or lower) abv cap, it would go great with all the other stupid liquor laws we have. It has been pretty fun to watch the rate of distribution expansion in the midwest region. I have talked to a few shop owners/managers that are saying the selection is great, but shelf space just can't keep up. I imagine it is only going to get harder to decide what goes on the shelves and keep up with what is in demand.
flying under the radar is my understanding Beer above the cap is supposed to go through the Iowa ABD I believe
Utopias goes through the ABD and is treated and taxed like a spirit. We have had ones around the cap fly under the radar, but when there are lots of them like Avery has in their portfolio I doubt we'll see then (the super high ABV stuff) via JB. But hopefully it leads to further law changes.
Ran into a rep today. Launch is Feb 1. He said we are getting everything as the abv cap was lifted back in July. So, save your dollars.
OK, I just read about the alcohol laws there. How is that possible? I thought y'all were a progressive state and you have an NFL team!
The hope is to have product on the shelf by the 2nd, but I wouldn't expect everything everywhere all at once. I do not think this is the case.
